Hey guys,

Has there been a thread about Megaman Xtreme and Xtreme 2 yet? If not, what did you guys think of these two games?

I played the crap out of Xtreme 2 growing up. It's piss hard, though. (Especially that damn tank miniboss. He's possibly one of the hardest bosses in the entire X series.)

I only recently got the chance to play them. I ordered them both from eBay a while back.

Gotta love the Ultimate Buster, both Buster Pluses and the Speed Shot combo, with no Helmet enhancement and the Rapid Fire function turned on. Better than the freakin' Hadoken or Shouryuken.

We've had a few topics about these, but I don't mind any worth pulling up after a quick check.

Xtreme 1 was a huge reharsh of Mega Man X1 and X2, but Xtreme 2 actually made things interesting by including actual new plot elements (the Erasure Incident got a mention in X5), new stages (cursed electrified water of doom!), and the various enhancements that you could buy. As Hell says, Xtreme 2 could be brutal at times. That tank boss is insane.

Overall, I found both games to be pretty fun. Not awfully original, but they're very playable, and the graphics were pretty nice at the time of their release.

I'm still stuck at that damn tank form of Sigma's...

I still don't think much of them. They're only hard because the controls are god-awful :P It's like they tried to make MegaMans X1-3 on portable format but lacked means, resources and funding so they hybridised them and made them crap.

If they had waited until the GBA was released and then made direct ports I would have gone with that :P AND YES I AM AWARE THAT THAT IS AN UNREASONABLE ARGMUENT!! :P

Gosh, I played that game when I was like 6.( I know my age). The electric water killed me a lot, but I ALWAYS got stuck at Sigma Stage 1. Was that the tank boss or Velgauder(sigma's dog).

Cool. Yeah, sorry. I should have checked further back. Looks like you all enjoyed it; I had a really difficult time with the games, to be honest - I'm not saying that it they weren't fun or anything! They were!
