Woohoo, now we're talking! I'm curious to get more details on this, since we have about nothing but a "there's something coming" right now. This has potential, I'd say, as long as they don't use it to screw-up the (finished) story on the Battle Network side. Long live EXE!!

As someone said in the Rockman Perfect Memories message board, what are the odds that we'll get new NetNavis based on the Mega Man 9 robot masters? SplashWoman.EXE, or PlugMan.EXE, anyone?

Now, a shout-out to those who weren't sure about my idea to putting the Battle Network and Star Force series in the same forum: where would you have posted this? ;)

I would have put it in the EXE fourm because EXE beats SF by a mile!

Heh. I must say, this outta be one of the more impressive moves that Capcom has done in a while for Mega Man. I really enjoyed the EXE characters, so it's nice to see them come back, in some way. Don't suppose Lan and the whole gang would be alive, would they? Doesn't SF take place one hundred years after the events of the EXE series?

I guess it's alright that this is coming out for a handheld (minus Network Transmission), like the rest of the EXE/SF games. Something about the whole idea of the SF/EXE series crossing over makes me think that this could be big though. I'm thinking a console release might be a better fit for this. Then again, if it sticks with the same gameplay both series are known for, I suppose the same basic handheld release will probably work best.

I was kind of hoping to see all of the EXE character's grownup selves at the end of 6. :(

Two hundred years, actually, so don't count on any of them being alive... unless this game involves a kind of time travel, just like how MegaMan.EXE got his cameo in the first Star Force title.

Apparently, this game may not be a cross over, but rather a remake of the first Battle Network game, with Star Force's DS capabilities and such.

I don't know...

I don't see why we need a remake. The game is not that old unless they are setting the stage for a battle network revive.

I wouldn't be surprised if this becomes a revival/re-release.

$*Ca-ching Ca-ching*$

Maybe we'll be battling as Mega Man.EXE in the same 3rd person perspective used in the Star Force Games.

...hooray for revolution?

I'd probably still buy it though. The first couple of Battle Network games were definitely some of the best ones in that series.

Well no dobt I would buy the battle network remake. I love battle network and seeing it with a battle system like starforce would make my day.

Err, I sure hope that this is NOT a remake. I'd rather play something new. Besides, the battles in Star Force feel more limited as you can't move around as much: I like the higher strategic freedom level of the Battle Network grid.

This is just like when Nintendo announced the first Pokémon remakes: the games aren't old enough yet for a revival! Give them some time!

Well thats another story Doc the pokemon games came out for a reason. You see people were not able to get all the pokemon with the gen three games. So they cameout with the remakes to help those who wanted them. Its kinda the same with heartgold and soulsilver.

Seeing as how Navis don't age (well, "physically" anyway, by simple sense of logic), it could really work as being part of the actual story- and timeline if they wanted to. But I am guessing it will not be so.

A remake of Megaman Battle Network which I've been working on.

It's an official interview, so pretty much, this is either a remake of the original with SF gameplay or we're getting another BN game with this.

Or this could be another mistranslation... it wouldn't be the first.

It does seem to point toward a remake, I'll give you that. I just have a hard time accepting the fact that Capcom would really do that.

EDIT: Well, I'll be damned. Read this.

A true crossover or a game designed to bridge the gap between Battle Network and Star Force was too good to be true anyway. After all, its Capcom; god forbid they try to be innovative or try something new.

- Both EXE and SSR protagonists are playable
- Harp Note appears, in addition to Shooting Star Rockman
- EXE1 maps return
- The future of the EXE world appears - ClockMan (we're assuming he means Clock Genius here)
- Unsurprisingly, ClockMan apparently gets his own, new area added to EXE1
- The screen setup is like with EXE5 Twin Leaders - field on top and map on bottom
- GBA graphics seem to be returning, with updates only on minor things, like portraits
- SSR3 portraits are used for the Shooting Star characters

Especially since the DSi doesn't support GBA games anymore...

I'm psyched to see the old Battle Network 1 Internet Areas. Those were confusing to navigate, but with a simple display of your Internet position (Internet Area 1), and a map on the bottom screen, things will be much more easy to handle. I'm hoping that they're remixing the entire soundtrack to the level of Battle Network 5 DS, that was enjoyable to listen to.

On the other hand, I'd really expect to see the graphics set of BN4 to 6 used instead of the older one from 1 to 3... Maybe that will change before the final release, after all: these are beta screenshots. Besides, the sprites from the Star Force games wouldn't really fit with the others.

EXE is back for real! :D
