Since this topic was here I thought I'd ask my questions here.

I heard about Steam the other day and heard it was free and that some games were indeed free, now is it really worth it to sign up for Steam and install it? Is it worth getting even for someone. like me, with no money? Just curious about what you guys think of it so please, tell me about your experiences if you don't mind.

The only worthwhile free game as of yet that I have found is Portal =/ Or Alien Swarm if its still free

I know Alien Swarm is free, but to my knowledge Portal isn't, I'd have to check again just to be sure.

EDIT: Okay so I just installed Steam and am currently downloading Alien Swarm, also Portal does cost money haha. Anyways I have no clue on how I can search for more free games, does anyone know how?

Must have been a one time thing, I got it for free haha. There is a search option on the Steam store, just look at "Games under $5" There should be some type of free ones in there

Alright, oh and I don't know why, but after I pass the main menu of Alien Swarm, it gets really laggy, I don't know if it's my computer or what, but I've tried just about everything to get it to run smoothly, I don't know how to stop the lag.

My Firefox? No I didn't think of that, I'll give that a try, maybe I should sign out of my messengers too.

By hitting shift+tab in-game, you can get access to a web browser built-into the steam system. No reason to keep firefox open. What are your PC specs? Alein Swarm is pretty low, requirement wise.

How do I figure out my PC stuff? lol I'm not a tech person I dunno the ins and outs of a computer lol

Give me a prtscrn anyway. There's some commands that make the game look uglier but playable. I ran TF2 on an integrated card for like a year.

Haha, I heard that, it told me Free Realms wouldn't work on my computer but the truth is that it does work considering I played it on this very computer a while back.
