Are disgusting.

As a Texas resident, I find the political system...disturbing.

Example-the two major political parties, Republicans and Democrats are at political war. Just now, I heard a "senator" yelling "LET'S TAKE OUR COUNTRY BACK!!!" This is disgusting, because what one party passes, the other vetoes, not because the bill passed was bad, but because the other party passed it. This has led to many... conflicts.

I may continue this when I get to a computer, and off my DSi.

This is one the reasons why I prefer political systems where more than two parties have a shot at electing people. It sometimes skews the proportions of conservatives vs liberals on one side because of similar parties fighting against each other, but it avoids a US-like deadlock where the two sides have about equal strength and simply exchange their places every few years without much improvements being done to the overall society.

Well, we DO have the Libertarian party, which stresses the need for no or minimal government. It has become more popular recently.

Yes, but the best solution is a third party that's more reasonable, not less. It's a cute idea, but laissez-faire doesn't work.

Politics are disgusting," yet you clearly don't even follow them? Democrats and Rebuplicans are not the ones who want to "take their country back". The ones who are aware of the U.S. slavery are.

Um, right, yeah, okay. Libertarians usually want ALL the social programs. Which is the opposite of small government. You people are really off, here.

Actually Ari- I mean... acquaintance, my friend is a libertarian and they are indeed a group that wants little to no government involved.

Uh... no. Not even remotely close to being fact. Libertarians generally like as little interference from the government as possible, both socially and economically.

Again, how can you want "little-to-no government" yet want food stamps, education "agencies", pollution "watchers", etc., etc., etc.? That's actually the main reason that Libertarian groups often worry about meeting with the "New Republicans" or whatever you want to call them, yet the "New Republicans" group generally considers Libertarians as being "with them". The "New Republicans", and all Republicans for that matter, do NOT want things like food stamps, medicaid (ignoring the current "health care bill debate" as that is a specific issue), etc. I know this, specifically, from We Are Change which is a group of "New Republicans", as well as the Ron Paul social website and all the rest of them, and because the Meetups that are hosted by or are inviting the Libertarian "official local organization" always post warnings or stories about how "we were able to convince them [them=Libertarians] to have this joint effort" regarding this specific subject.

Of course they don't want Cannabis to be "illegal", or phone taps, torture, and unjustified or sometimes even any war to be allowed, but that doesn't mean they are aware of the illegality of or want to get rid of programs like Social Security.

I don't know. Of course, I also don't see how that's relevant because the libertarian party is not asking for those things.

"Social security is illegal"?

Shall I run home and get my tinfoil hat, or do you happen to have a spare on you?

I've sometimes thought of running in my local elections on a transhumanist platform. I have the free time, but not the money, or the cojones to do it when my county has been dominated by conservative republicans for decades. I would probably be forced to move.

Thank you for those posts, Mega X

Recently, on the radio (NPR, the only unbiased radio station) I heard a recording of a protest against Demorats by Republicans. We want our country back is an exact qote.
