How I didn't create a topic about this yet is beyond me. StarFox 64 3DS is THE game I want to play for the Nintendo 3DS, and it can't come out soon enough!

Well, the news fell today that multiplayer will be local only, and up to 4 players. I'm slightly disappointed that I won't get to shoot you unfortunate people down, but I really wasn't expecting much on that front.

Who knows, once they get this training game out of the way, the sequel could have a full blown online mode, similar to StarFox Assault's multiplayer!

It looks like we're getting the same single player game, with improved graphics. On the other hand, the multiplayer settings are getting beefed up quite a bit with new levels and new game modes. This is exactly what I was hoping for, so I'm very happy to see that!

I hear that the game will be released in North America in September. That's close enough for me.

This is exactly what I was hoping for:

"The music and voice acting were all re-recorded to add to the whole "old but new" feeling. Heck, they even tracked down most of the old voice actors to reprise their roles -- an awesome detail for fans of the original."

The game is now in my hands, so I'll see you all in three days, after I've beat every possible mode.

The "three days" thing was a joke to be taken as "I'm going into hiding for three full days so I can focus on the game".

So far I've gone through the main story once, and I'm one level away from completing a second playthrough. Being able to save between levels is definitely nice!

The game is everything I hoped it'd be, honestly. Save for the missing online multiplayer, they got everything just right. I haven't played the original in over a year, and yet I could start firing at enemy formations by predicting their movements, the bosses reacted exactly how I expected, and the redone voice acting is as hilarious as ever. The new touches are good, too: a few extra lines of dialog were added, the improved graphics really shine, and the remade boss introductions are neat.

Controls are solid, too. On my first playthrough, I scored 1088. It's a good sign to me that the game plays like it should despite the different controls, as I reached the exact same score on the original at least once. I'm now gunning for the normal mode's medals, and I was surprised when I nailed the Sector Z one on my first attempt last night. It took me several retries on my previous scoring run!

Now, do you know what I think should happen?
- Keep the dev team;
- Keep the voice actors;
- Keep the game engine;
And build a brand new sequel. They've got a winner on their hands, and I think we're due for a follow-up to Star Fox Command.
