The folllowing post is taken from the press start section of electronic gaming monthly(a videogame magazine)
and its not a rumor...its fact now that the games will get a u.s release....unless the bastards at square change their minds..

\'\'The ps1 remakes of FF1 and FF2 are headed statside this spring in as a yet untitled one disc package(woohoo!)This will be the first time u.s gamers get to play an official translation of the second fantasy(the super nintendo game we know as FF2 in the u.s was actually the japaneese FFIV).And, although pricing has yet to be announced, new ps1 games are rarely more than $30 these days(so we expect it\'ll be nice and affordable).

What good news huh? i guess square really does listen to their fans.......sometimes.

I have been told that the essence of being Splash Woman is not in attaining perfection, but in the attempt.

If so, then Splash Woman in general does not qualify as, well, human.

I heard about two weeks ago that the remakes were coming here... Good to hear it\'s a one-disc package, though. Japan got separate releases.

I wish sony would make something like a game boy. And make some of the best games like ff7 and ff8 and spyro the dragon. Either that or nintendo makes a deal that lets them claim custody of ff7 and they pit it out on gba.

Yes, that\'s good these games are coming out on the PSX over here. Must get.. must get. Then I\'ll only be missing FF III and XI whenever the hell it comes out..

This would possibly be bad for Nintendo. No matter how well or poor the GC does, they have the handheld market covered, which will certainly bring in a good share of revenue. While I may be no Nintendo fanboy, I do enjoy their games, and it would suck if something like this happened.

In general, the GBA seems more like a portable SNES than PSX, so that wouldn\'t work. And 3D games being portable wouldn\'t be that good, you need a bigger screen to see more details.

So what\'s it like to have such sub-par intelligence? XP

Seriously though, that wouldn\'t work. I hardly doubt Square would want to redo almost ever aspect of the game so it could be done on the GBA. They planned to do a PS2 remake, yeah, but that\'s currently canned. XP

FF7 blows chunks anyway.

As for the re-releases..well, that\'s nice for you Square-ites there. I don\'t give a damn. Hopefully they make FF1 have more than four spaces for names and magic spells, though.
