So that nutcase of Texas arrived mid-Events Night, saw that some PvP was going on, and decided to join in. He wiped the floor with all participants, and ended up with a killstreak of 102 before being defeated. I had notifications ready for up to 50 only, I had to scramble to add new ones!

Last Saturday featured another round of mass killing in the SpiderDome. At some point, people wanted to try something new, so I yelled "THE FLOOR IS LAVA" and proceeded to spawn a bunch of blazes...

This is a (temple?) (shrine?) that Aaranvor designed on creative maybe 8-10 months ago. I think it is by far his best and most original structure.
I recreated it on the server today. Apart from a few minor fixes (mismatched blocks, path in garden, wider path inside) the whole thing is his.

I decided to throw all the screenshots I took from that one event night a while back where we were first testing the SpiderDome into an Imgur album. There were just too many to post all in the forums.

Along the Western rail that runs to the Mesa - built a rail "tower" to act as a stopping point for the local village. With the rail width, will also link up with the upcoming rail/horse patch expansion.

Seriously though, that looks gorgeous. I'll have to swing by sometime. I spy some chiseled stone brick in there, too!
I know I talked with Sora about integrating the walkway/horse path directly alongside the rail, but that was to add some volume to the simple cobble rail bridges and consolidate the travel modes. Don't hesitate to offer suggestions if you've got something that could fit better with this structure.

The most amazing thing happened last night, showing the dangers of hard mode.
From what I could gather, frog decided to make a trip to Gondwana and got killed by a zombie in the start town. This place is not 100% secured yet, with walls difficult to build properly due to the rough terrain. The fun started when that zombie picked up frog's full set of diamond armor and enchanted diamond sword. The decaying green monster decided to hang around: he could one-hit kill her, leaving her about no time to react and spamming the chat with death messages.
Andro happened to travel through the same area, quickly got killed by the zombie as well. This led to both of them being stuck in a death loop, as the zombie was now firmly waiting near the spawn point for any incomers. Had this happened over Xbox Live, I believe the words "F---CKING SPAWN CAMPER" would have been uttered. I brough UE with me to see the situation unfold and we proceeded to go kill the zombies after laughing at the whole thing for a few minutes! Both players got killed about a hundred times in that timeframe...

With all the XP he was earning, the zombie probably kept repairing the stuff in between their warping back to the world.
