The next update to Minecraft, version 1.2, is set to be released this week. Once again, please do not update until an annoucement is made here! The server-side software takes some time to be ready, and if you update too soon, you'll no longer be able to connect and play with us!

I totally wasn't paying attention and went to upgrade but then it clicked in my head half way through the 2 second download, "Hey the server probably hasn't upgraded yet" So I exited from minecraft before it was done and re-opened it and clicked "Not now" but it just freezes. and says "Done loading" and the green bar is 80% out of 100% and won't go up anymore..
There's always at least one person getting burned by these updates!
It also happened to me once that the update became stuck and wouldn't complete properly. To fix that, on Windows, follow these steps:
1- Open the Start menu and select the Run option
2- Type in "%appdata%" without the quotes and hit Enter
3- In the folder that opens, go to .minecraft
4- Delete the "bin" subfolder
5- Restart Minecraft.exe and watch it redownload the content you need.
Of course, in this case, this will bring you back to 1.2. Do a Google search on how to downgrade the game, it's easy to do in most instances.

There's no recommended version of CraftBukkit available yet, and I need to replace all the plugins, so this is an especially tricky update. I'm still missing a few critical files, but I'm hoping to get this done soon!
