I haven't really watched the original series, but I must have caught some clips here and there while zapping on the TV. Part of my brain is still wired to think of that version instead of the newest edition!

I grew up with the 80s version which included Strawberry Shortcake and Rainbow Bright. (Out of all three, Rainbow Bright was the better show.) I was nowhere near obsessed with those shows as I was with Sonic, so I barely remember the stories and characters. Actually, I rather not watch that version of MLP because it brings back memories of long hours in the hospital. My sister was diagnosed with cancer when she was young and she was the huge Pony fanatic then. Whenever we went to UCLA and knew we were going to say there a day or two, she would bring either the first or second movie to watch at the hospital.

Wow... The villains have definitely improved since then...the songs, too.

I think my big sis used to watch the old Ponies a little, but growing up with 2 brothers she ended up watching X-Men and Batman more than anything. I might have caught an episode or two when I was a little kid, but I don't really remember it anymore.
