I\'m shocked! There is a new Game Boy, the Game Boy Advance SP, is coming out on March 23rd ithe US, and February 14th in Japan. It looks... wierd. It folds over on itslef, has its own light, and features internal rechargeable batteries. No headphone jack either, some sort of new plug that you have to use an adapter on to use headphones. You have to check this thing out! Here it is:

WHOA!! Backlit GBA! That\'s looking darn impressive! Once unfolded, it looks so much like the original GameBoy! Nintendo will never stop to amaze me... However, I don\'t know if it would be as easy to play that than the regular GBA. The L and R buttons are scaringly small...

Yeah, I prefer the GBA design as well. The fold design- it\'s just stupid. For a play-on-the-go machine where you may not play for long but you will play often, the folding design is an impediment. Seriously, how many times can you fold it before it breaks? Also, how durable can it possibly be at that size? The internal batteries are a good idea, but what happens when that breaks or is used up? They don\'t appear to be removable. Nintendo made a good choice with the light, but most of the design is just a bad idea.

Wow, it looks goob, a little wierd but it looks good. With a glowing screen i\'ll be able to play it in the dark and the screen will be easyer to see. I like the colour also and the style, i don\'t think the folding flap will break easly though.

Whoa! If you ask me, that is really messed up! It\'s like a frigin\' calculator! As neat as it may be, I\'m happy with my GBA already. Where did they get the SP part from? Is Nintendo trying to copyright some of Capcom\'s products/ characters / liscienced trademarks? We all know where we\'ve heard SP from, right?

I saw that GBA on another site. I heard that the battery life is only 10 hrs. with the light on and 18 with it off. If your wondering where I found this it was on planetgamecube.com

Yeah, the site I posted says 10 w/ light 18 w/out too. And according to my information, the screen is the same size as the one on the standard GBA.

All I\'ve seen is the shiney silver one. I\'m sure Nintendo\'ll make more colors. An orange one of those would be cool.

There are two colors planned: the metallic looking one, and a blue model with the same metallic shine.

The fact that it folds in half and has its own light is pretty sweet, but my hands get all cramped up as it is trying to wrap around the tiny original GBA. I don\'t think I could handle something...
Image ...that small.

Oh well. If the light means I can play the excessively dark Circle of the Moon without having to break my back in an attempt to get the GBA directly under a lamp and still have a good view of it... maybe it\'s worth it.

I don\'t think the Gameboy advance SP will have more features then our normal Gameboy advance.

And i don\'t think i can hold that thing. I was very happy when i got a Gameboy advance because it has a bigger size. And i cannot hold smal things. It makes me go berserk when it always drops because it\'s too smal.
So i will always stick to my good ol\' fashion gameboy advance.

I found an excellent reason not to replace my current GBA with the SP version: since the carts are upside-down, Kirby Tilt \'n Tumble can\'t work on it...

Ah... what Doc brought up is a good point. But I could swear I read somewhere when the GBA was first coming out that the motion sensors are in the system itself, not the carts.

Hmph. I\'m probably wrong though. Feel free to correct me if I am.

Of course. The GameBoy Advance SP has the exact same hardware than the regular GBA, with the difference that the handeld has a new look. All GameBoy games work on it, even back to the black & white days.

I\'m pretty sure than not. If there was really a motion sensor in the GBA, it would have been used by the developpers a long while ago. The sensor still has to be included in the carts. It\'s possible to have it in GBA carts, too.

OK, then I was probably either remembering it wrong, or I was fed some false info. Heck, I\'d never seen the Cart for Kirby Tilt n Tumble anyway, so it was a wild shot in the dark.

OK, in general it\'s exactly the same as the original GBA except it\'s shaped differently and has a built in light.

Saying it again: The GameBoy Advance SP has the exact same hardware as the original GameBoy Advance, so *ALL* games are compatible besides Kirby Tilt \'n Tumble.

Or maybe even get a discount......yeah, right.

I WANT IT! It looks so awesome, and I need to give my neck a break when I play (I have to crane my neck to play properly). I need it....

And, one last thing. You can buy some software to get a backlight for your GBA, but it would destroy your warranty, but.....You\'ve probably had it for long enough to have the warranty expire, so.....yeah........

I STILL WANT IT! :D

Hmph!......It looks like a piece of crap to me....instead of making that they should have made a backlight gameboyadvance with the features that come with that mini gameboy that some idiot could accidently swallow...

There is better news however...if you\'ve read the latest nintendo power...You know that nintendos coming out with a device called the \'\'gameboy player\'\' That lets you play gameboy and gameboyadvance games on your gamecube...I think i\'ll wait for that instead..
;)

I have been told that the essence of being Splash Woman is not in attaining perfection, but in the attempt.

If so, then Splash Woman in general does not qualify as, well, human.

Well, yeah Dr. Chaos I know there\'s a GCN adapter so\'s you can play your GBA on the \'Cube....but, still.....I want to be able to enjoy my games on the airplane without having any freakin\' glare on the goddamn screen! It really gets on your nerves after awhile, ya know?!? Especially when you\'re playing Metroid Fusion (which is a dark backgrounded game), trying to kill the SA-X in a few tries. THAT\'S why I need a backlight, and I\'m not willing to put one in my GBA and possibly fuck it up.

I can imagine you guys playing really bright games on your high-definition TV\'s right now....

\"AHHH! BLOODY HELL! MY EYES!\"

I\'d love to see that....

But, even without the sarcasm and ridicule, I like to play my GBA on the go, especially on the plane. I also plan to make my GCN mobile (heh heh...)....I love that battery pack for the GCN and the LCD screen.

Another eason I want it is because I wouldn\'t have to buy that many batteries atall, because it has a rechargable battery pack.....I like saving money, don\'t you? :P

The GameBoy Player will be nice, and I\'ll buy it, but it sure won\'t replace my GBA: you can\'t carry your GameCube everywhere, unless you spend hundreds in extra equipment.
