It's Game Over for Nintendo Power.

After 24 years, a long run as an internal Nintendo publication, then a move to Future Publishing, the once-king of video gaming magazines will be closing it's pages soon. Of course, nowadays this wasn't the fastest or most conveninent way to get news on upcoming games, but they still had their place with in-depth articles, exclusives, detailed coverage and reviews.

I subscribed to it much later than most people: I joined in 2003, when they ran an awesome promo bundle with Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros 3. I've dutifully renewed every year since then, and the latest issue hit my mailbox a few days ago only. This is the end of an icon, and the end of one of the last Nintendo products spinoffs of the late 80's. I'll seriously miss this.

I JUST renewed. I'll miss the magazine for sure, but I hope they either plan a refund or something.

Nintendo Power's last issue will be the December 2012 issue, which will be mailed to subscribers in late November and sold on newsstands starting December 4.

If you are a subscriber and your subscription extends past the final December 2012 issue, you will receive a refund or credit card credit of the remaining value of your subscription. If you reside in the US or Canada, your refund will arrive within 4�6 weeks after the December 2012 issue; for customers outside the US and Canada, your refund will arrive 6�10 weeks after the December 2012 issue.
