That IS a rather annoying issue. The blocks exist, but they're about impossible to get our hands on. I own all of three chiseled stone bricks, one of which I've used so far.

I don't want to install a full fledged economy system due to everything it implies (plus some players just don't want that), but some compromise might be done. Give me some days to think this through, I've got a lot on my plate this week!

I've got a proposition to make.

My idea is to have a building in Central where players can exchange their supplies for other, rarer ones. The system would be mostly built by Texas and automated, so no op presence would be required, and I'd take care of periodically refilling the system to make sure it doesn't run out. I'd also trash the items offered in, thus preserving the rule of equivalent exchange.

I looked at the items that people could be interested in obtaining and came up with the following:

3:1 stone -> chiseled stone brick
1:1 furnace -> lit furnace
1:1 cobble -> moss cobble
1:1 stone brick -> cracked stone brick
1:1 stone brick -> moss stone brick
1:1 human head -> creeper head
1:1 human head -> skull head
1:1 human head -> zombie head


The point is to increase the availability of very rare blocks or those available only in creative mode, NOT to affect the game balance or build a full economy system. As such, I'm not adding an iron to diamond trader, or anything of the sort. Texas might have something in the works on that front, however, with no spawned items.

Any comments on the list of items, or the ratio for any of them?

I've seen the news earlier today (posted about it in another topic, too), and while I'm annoyed that it's coming now, I'm glad they're adressing this long-standing issue.

I'm moving forward with this trader business anyway, the preparations are almost done. You'll get your hands on it very soon!
