As I've said in chat, "wtf". This looks fun and all, but it's the second Mega Man original platformer from Inafune in a row. I can't help but wonder how this project has affected Mighty No. 9's schedule, since him and IntiCreates are involved in both projects.
Also, Azure Striker. Really!?
Azure | Blue
Striker | Bomber
They could at least try not to make it as blatantly obvious.

I think that's the point, Doc. Inafune wants it to be in-your-face obvious as a blatant EAT IT! to Capcom, and a direct 'This is for you' to the Megaman fans. Additionally, I don't think this will affect 9's schedule at all. You remember what we were looking at when 9 hit Kickstarter; it was just concept art. Some of this looks FINISHED. I'm willing to bet that since 9's Kickstarter funding was approximately 'all the money ever printed' that Inafune's been able to hire some new folks on. He knows we're interested. He knows we're supporting him. So he knows he can branch out a little.

In regards to impeding progress, it sounds like it's actually coming out this summer, so at this point it's more like they're in the polishing phase.
Inafune releasing crossover that totally isn't Mega Man 1
I was wondering why there hadn't been news about an 8-bit thing yet. There's my answer!

This is a reminder that Gunvolt comes out this Friday in North America. If you buy it early you get the 8bit crossover thing for free with it.
That last video has three characters shown to be selectable, including Beck and Gunvolt and a feminine-looking character named Ekord. Is Ekord a character in either of the new not-MegaMan games, is she meant as an original character just for the little 8-bit game or is she going to be a character in an upcoming Inticreates game?
She's from...something. The name escapes me. Neither Gunvolt or MN9 though.
We're getting a sequel!
I had a lot of fun with the original Gunvolt, so I'm up for another round. The gameplay is an original take over the standard platformer formula, and the presentation was superb.

Am I little late to participate in the hype? =P
Mighty No. 9 might have been more than a little underwhelming, but I've LOVED the Azure Striker series so far.
The first was absolutely fantastic, and while I think the second didn't grip me as much as far as Gunvolt's story, playing as Copen is just a wall-bouncing delight.
I ended up completely missing the announcement for Luminous Avenger. It just sort of showed up on Steam while I wasn't looking. But the wall-bouncing aerial combo thing really speaks to me for some reason, and I usually can't stand combo mechanics in platformers. Haha
But I think I've enjoyed Mighty Gunvolt Burst the best. I've played through with all of the characters and DLC characters. Designing all kinds of different buster shots and rerunning stages to test them out is a lot of fun.
Oh, and of course looking forward to Gunvolt 3. http://gunvolt.com/en/GV3/
