This might be my favorite render yet. I feel like we need one of Townshend's coast from way zoomed out. Sphen and I agree that it's like looking at the lights on the boardwalk all lit up (go figure, since it HAS a boardwalk) from a distance. It looks like a circus and that's awesome. Also, why is the panda clipped?

As for the panda, that's my mistake. My goal was to include the main elements alongside the cart line only, while trying to include them completely. I apparently missed a small bit of the panda!

Point Zero update

Nothing too complicated here - this is an updated look at Rodinia's spawn town, Point Zero. I did a render of it last December, shortly before Kag decided to spruce up the place, and I felt like I could use an updated promo shot. You can load both images side by side if you're curious to play "spot the differences"! I slightly changed the camera's position to reveal the now available Rodinia Central Station, at the far right.

A Giant Invader

By request, here's a look at Ender station. Located near the mid-point of the Transoceanic (and visible on that other render!), this serves as a train station and lodging accomodation. It was built by WindRider739 and remains a surprise to whoever happens to drop by the area! I've always been a fan of that house torn in half.

Doing this scene gave me a chance to play with the renderer's brand new fog settings, which offers me a lot more control over that factor. I went for a mist effect and set it with a faint purple tint, giving the entire image a slightly eerie look!

It's been a while since we've been to Sanctum, has it?

This ship is located a bit away from the harbor, and couldn't fit in my previous render of the location due to its distance. Built by Antecus, this massive structure gives an uneasy vibe thanks to its darker tones and completely black sails. The multiple cannons definitely don't help, either!

Render time: 111 hours (!!)

While I was updating the lighting of Central's overhead train lines not long ago, I was wondering how the place would look in absolute darkness, lit only through its secondary light sources. This is the result: no sun, no moon, a pitch-black sky. Only the light cast by the torches, redstone lamps, sea lanterns and similar allow the place to glow. I'm surprised to see how bright the image looks overall, I was expecting something much darker!

Those with a good eye might have noticed that this image reuses the exact same camera angle as my very first render, giving you a chance to see how the location looks both at day and night, along with the changes that occurred over several months! I'm quite happy with this one.

Minecraft's terrain generator sometimes causes strange things to happen! These two images were made from the same biome, but at two different locations. Despite the appearances of the uneven terrain, this isn't from Gondwana: this crazy place exists in Laurasia, with the default ground generation in large biomes mode. It looked interesting enough for someone to fill in a render request, and here it is!

Kagato has recently taken up the idea of building trees in Sanctum; trees of all shapes and colors. This one is a cherry tree, known in Japan as a sakura. I was actually set to render this some weeks back when I realized that he already took it down... Thankfully, he rebuilt it bigger and better! This one will be going in my wallpapers set for sure. :)

This is a recreation of the initial engagement between the USS Enterprise and the USS Reliant in Star Trek II: the Wrath of Khan. Sphenicus and I built this for the space contest that took place some months back. I'm rather happy of how both ships turned out, given the building scale!

This is one scene that was extremely difficult to pull off. The renderer isn't designed for sci-fi space settings involving a mysterious light source casting light a bit everywhere. After making several attempts in the past few months, I finally got it to work by placing the sun right behind the camera, which minimizes the amount of shadows displayed. I think the final result is quite nice!

Its larger-than-life size allows it to feature many details that wouldn't be possible at a smaller scale. Despite many chats over time on the topic of trains, only two real or larger scale ones have been built so far!

UnknownEntity has basically three building locations available to him: above ground, on a cramped island; underground, digging out rooms; or underwater, with room to spare. He chose the latter option for his potions lab, which is neatly tucked in within a dome. It gives me the impression of being some sort of research lab, with benches and test equipment!

The glass gained some neat light effects on this one, with parts of the ceiling having a turquoise hue and some farther out spots taking an orange shade.

I wasn't sure how this one would turn out. I was expecting a grainy, dark picture with few details due to the low light setting, but the results have surpassed my expectations! Those redstone torches can definitely create an effect when used properly!

Here's an updated look at the northernmost town on the server, Sanctum, taken from the area that Kagato has been expanding lately! This might be my biggest render in scope yet, as I included over 9000!!!! chunks (yes, seriously) in order to give it a deep field of view. I felt like it was a good way to show how Sanctum seems to be nestled in a valley and surrounded by two bodies of water!

At Exodio's request, we are now taking a look INSIDE one of his gigantic walls. The place is obviously dark as it's not meant to be visited, yet bits of light still shine through. Interestingly enough, the local river is allowed to flow under the stone, so some light gets to leak in. Additionally, leftover torches from the construction work can be seen at the far back!
