Hello Everyone on the Creeper's lab.

It is I, the resident Space Nazi and second best Op, second to Wind that is, I have come here to tell you of an idea for a contest that is being prepared for behind the scenes of everyday living.

This contest will not be like any others before it, as you aren't BUILDING, but you are making. Sculpting to be exact. You will be given a 15x15x15 cube of material, of your choosing from a list of 3, and you must sculpt a master piece, but there is a catch, Block placement will be denied.

During this contest you cannot place any blocks, but you will be able to destroy them, so diamond picks with eff 5 are not recommended. However I will supply stone and or iron picks for everyone to use. Now since block placement will be denied you will be given the gift of Flight, but the area will be contained in a glass container so that you may not escape with such a gift.

In the next coming week or so I shall have a post on the website out with more information about the contest, the location, how to get there, the rules blah blah blah. I will leave off with a nice little touch, the rewards for the contest are of your choosing of a list of three. Materials chest, enchanting chest, and a mystery.

Tell me what you think and if you're interested.

-Anon

TL;DR new contest, challenging, and better rewards

Ooooooh. This is interesting! I'd do it. o.o Absolutely. Using a cube as a base is a good idea too, since "ordinary" sculpting slabs are often tall and rectangular. This gives you the option to make it more or less any shape you choose.

downside i see to this is you can't use halfslabs and stairs to make the sculpture more realistic. but otherwise this seems like a cool idea.

The restriction on placing blocks is meant to be just PART of the challenge. Figuring out how to work with what you've got and absolutely nothing else is the point.

And don't slip either~

A 15 block cube would be the most complete thing I've ever worked on. I'm totally in.

Ermahgerd, we found the perfect contest for Sal...

Take something completely blocked-out and unfinish it.

The contest area is being set up, a post on the site will come up this weekend giving all the information about the contest. Once the post is up you will have a week to tell me form a list of materials you want to use and the plot you'd like to use. The site post will have all info that is needed, but don't be afraid to ask me any questions about the contest.

Will we be able to light up our creation in any way with torches?

Since block placement is denied you cant do that. However I can talk to doc to see about adding an exception to torches. But I feel that goes against the challenge of the contest.
