Well, that was anti-climatic.

The best we can call this is a mild success, if we want to be nice. The Wii U might have the lowest amount of games released for it out of Nintendo's line-up, save the Virtual Boy. The awful name and early marketing definitely didn't do it any favors.

If anything, the Switch looks like a more realized version of this concepts, so I'm looking forward to that one!

My only fear about the Switch is it's underwhelming power hardware-wise. Granted, that hasn't stopped their prior consoles from having some amazing titles/graphics even though they came nowhere near the near PC-like specs of Sony and Microsoft's offerings. But given the piss poor (i.e. lazy/sloppy) ability of a lot of studios to make a quality port, even the AAA folks, my main fear is the Switch being another Wii U in terms of poor title support. Don't get me wrong, I'm buying one, strictly just because of the new Zelda.

Agreed. Nintendo hasn't released tech specs on the thing yet, but based on its small size alone, I'm expecting something underpowered compared to the competition. Nintendo will be able to make its own games just fine, but third party support might be lacking if this basically has the raw power of a handheld.

And now there's news that GameStop and Target are cancelling some Switch pre-orders due to shortage. Seriously Nintendo? Enough with these artificial shortage shennanigans. I just want to buy your product and not have to wait 5 months when the scalpers aren't buying them all up and screwing up the entire process like the Nintendo Classic. At least Sony and MS don't dick the consumer around like this and have plenty of units on the shelves at launch. *sigh*
