I\'m curious. Has anyone here ever had to send a Nintendo console to a repair facility? I read at Nintendo.com to have one repaired one would need to send all games and accessories with the system. Is this true? Here\'s the site for reference:

http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/index.html

I ask because my GameCube, after seven fun months, has begun to malfunction horribly. It can no longer read discs. We (my family and I) have tried everything to fix it, and have resolved that it needs to be repaired.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Yeah! That happened to me! Suddenly, my GC wouldn\'t read discs and I thought it was my game since I only had one game at the time. I got my GC for X-Mas of 2001. So anyways I still had the receipt so I went to the store and they exchanged it for a new game.(Well it was the same game just a new disc) So I got this brand new disc home and it still wouldn\'t work! I actually had to take my entire system back to the store. They still exchanged it, even though it was past 30 days. So, yes there was a huge defect in my Gamecube. I think everyone should be well aware of this! Lucky for me, I had my reciept which is now 2 years old and the people working at the store were just really stupid, but nice. Plus I got to save 2 bucks:D.

A GameCube having problems? It\'s the first time I hear that... Keaton, did you tried calling Nintendo\'s Repair Service? The phone number is at the back of any Nintendo game manual.

Cossack - I had forgotten about the number. Haven\'t had many problems with anything Nintendo, so I forgot all about it. Thanks for the reminder! I\'ll give\'em a call tomorrow, or Monday.

I had no idea GCs had problems. Maybe I got one on a bad run, ne? Well, hopefully things will be taken care of.

The possible explanation is that you incorrectly removed the disc from your GameCube, damaging the scanner. What you are supposed to do is, without touching the side of the disc with no painting, press the button in the middle and GENTLY remove the disc. If you didn\'t do it right you probably damaged the GameCube\'s disc scanner. Mine works fine.

EDIT:Oh yeah, Mr. Keaton Kit? Keatons have three tails with black tips. A better Avatar might be a screenshot of the Keaton from Legend of Zelda: Majora\'s Mask.

I\'ve done that with all games at all times. For seven months. No different. It\'s not the problem, because it worked before it quit, and I never removed the disc between the time I played and the time it quit. It\'s not user error here. Believe me, I\'m VERY conscience about my consoles. I\'m not some reckless kid.

Advice noted, but perhaps a history lesson is involved. If you\'d known me before, I\'d always have a Tails avatar up, because I like Tails. The name \"The Keaton Kit\" is merely a name that I chose, because I like the Keaton.

-_-; Oi. Remind me to be more logical in the future... [/sarcasm]

Well, maybe you can color the tips black :/
I\'m not saying you have to, but the Keaton\'s tail goes from base to tip with these colors:
Yellow White Black
------------------------------
It would be more realistic and stupid n00bs like me would bother you less XD
Plus it would still be Tails, but a Keaton at the same time...now Tails is actually ALMOST A KITSUNE! He only needs four more(if you add the third to make him a Keaton) and he\'s a full-fledged Kitsune....one idiot tried to make him a Super-Kitsune when he had only two tails...

Huh... that does sound like a good idea. ^^; Sorry if I sounded harsh before. I was under a lot of stress. Regardless, I had no excuse. ^^;

Anyway, I\'ll do that tomorrow, I think.

As for the topic, I guess it can be closed, unless others wish to discuss. I called Nintendo earlier, and we found a place we could take it to get it repaired. Free of charge even.

A long time ago before n64 came out. it cost like 100 dollars to get it fixed. So I just bought a new one instead of sending it to get it fixed.
