I keep forgetting this thing even exists. A bit too simple to be much of anything, but it was a nice showcase that could have been expanded in a full game mode!

It probably was the prototype for that, yeah, especially since Power Battle & Power Fighters are modeled after Mega Man 7. I was more thinking about a console release, but you're right that this led straight to the arcade instead.
