No, the reason that Wily hypnotized him was because King was starting to figure out he was on the wrong side. Besides in the plan for robots ruling humans, Wily would rule the robots.
King wasn\'t a maverick, because he had disobeyed Wily\'s orders. If King was a maverick Wily woudn\'t have to tell him what to do cause mavericks are evil and they destroy stuff without anyone telling them what to do.
