I think this is what happened, Wily finally created the ulti mate robot and sent it to decimate the hunters base back then Sigma was hunter, like X, so Zero was killing everyone and sigma went to fight Zero, in the end sigma won by crushing that W on Zero\'s head but it contaminated Sigma and it made him a Maverick and thats why thers a W on Zeros head.

Sigma got lucky if zero hadnt goten that headache from dr wilys sign on his head zero would riped sigmas head off.;D

In X3 after you beat the game It say something about X haveing to destroy zero in the future do you think zero will turn bad?

Its easy to see hes wilys creation actully if you beat most of the game like megaman x2 when you beat sigmas virus he will say zeros one of the doctors last creations now lets think how could that be wily and then as what vile lll said about x haveing to destroy zero in the future on x3 its very clearly zero was created by wily.

heres what happened zero and sigma fought and then zero cut off sigmas arm with his sword and then sigma hit zero in the w and sigma got virused from the w he destroyed and zero became good and sigma became evil

wat happened was that wily created zero, that scene in x4 was him having a flash back of when he was first activated but he doesnt realy remember wily, and zero went bad in x3 and x5. sigma turned bad on his own he was good but since Dr. cane tried to make repliods like x who have emotions and stuff they went bad because they wanted to rule over the humans.
