I will not shut my mouth, the reason it makes me mad is because just before he misspelled the word surprise he made a claim to have an IQ of 149, and even someone that has a much lower IQ can see the error. Now understand I can\'t prove or disprove that was he said is the truth, but I don\'t believe it.

Look, ever heard of something called a typo? It happens. Misspelling one word has absolutely no bearing on the overall intelligence of the person. Besides, sometimes people who are amazingly brilliant don\'t use great typing skills on the internet.

Here\'s the thing: Nobody else cares that Elburito misspelled the word, but your obnoxious ranting, that\'s another story.

The thing is no one gives a damn but you. So shut it up, got me. it\'s obvious to anyone with half a brain that that most of the people are lying about their IQ anyway...Sorry ot break it to all you super genius out there but I honestly dont think all the smart people in America gather on a megaman message board. I\'ve never seen one theory of relativity out of any of you I doubt if I put a physics problem on the board that most of you would get it right, I also don\'t think if I put a Spatial Reasoning problem on the board 50-60 percent of you could solve it in an average amount of time. If you would like I can take the time to make some questions. I don\'t doubt some of you are as smart as you say, but please don\'t insult my or anyone else\'s intelligence like this.

The IQ is, at best, a rough measure of academic intelligence. so who ever said it\'s not about actual intelligence is full of it.

It\'s intelligence QUOTIENT, not intelligence. It\'s your capacity to be ABLE to learn new concepts. What you chhose to learn is up to you and your circumstances, or the way your mind is designed. Whether you choose to use and excercise that logical ability is also up to you and other factors. That\'s why your IQ does not nessecerily tell show how smart you are (though there\'s usually a relation).

Now I would ASSUME that J was commenting on that as an example and is basing his doubts about ELBURITO\'s IQ on how he has seen him post in general... I don\'t see a reason to make such a big deal out of this. If he doubts ELBURITO\'s IQ, it is soley his opinion... I don\'t believe he flamed him over this (not going to check), and I don\'t believe ANYONE here has said being stupid is a bad thing... except for me with their tendency to be mean ;), but of course that doesn\'t apply to everyone nor am I applying it to any specific memeber of this board who may be stupid... and of course anyone with a low IQ isn\'t nessecerily stupid. There are retarded people who have done things greater then most people of average intellignce... of course most people of average intelligence are actually pretty stupid . For the second finish to that \"...\" (I know that has a name... ), there are many things invloved.

Okay, okay. Break it up, you guys...

Elburito, watch your spelling. As I always suggest (and I do it myself) is to cut your text and paste it in a word possessor. Spell check and then post the... post. ^^;

J_Hibiki, yea, I understand your anger but you don\'t need to get all worked up. You can always say \"I know the truth.\"

I must say that I\'m with MegaX on this one. Just because someone mispells a single word, or makes a typo (ie, they hnad sliped or they tpeyd too fast and they lettres got jumbelede up or theey hit a keey toooo mannany times) it doesn\'t mean they aren\'t intellegent. (And before you accuse me of being an idiot, I mean to do the above typos)

On Another note, I was halfway through a IQ test (twenty minutes through) and I ran out of time, and I have the intellegence to stop before I\'m up all night doing it with school in the morning. :D

Alright, I don\'t think people that make typos are stupid, but I do think that if soemone is going to have a post that\'s only a few words long saying how smart they are the least they can do is make sure the words are spelled right. maybe no one saw the post I made on adverage people are in the range of 100-109 I\'ve seen very few people say less than 130. I\'ve been on this board for some time, I think I have a good idea of how smart a lot of you guys are....you guys are saying numbers like \"160 lolz I\'m teh smart\"

Look at this
125 to 132
3%
1 in 80 above 125
Any Ph. D. at 3rd-Tier Schools Attorney, editor, executive.

132 to 137
1%
1 in 100 above 132
Eminent professor

137 to 150
0.9%
1 in 300 above 137
Leading math, physics professor

150 to 160
0.1%
1 in 1,100 above 150
Lincoln, Copernicus, Jefferson

160 to 174
0.01%
1 in 11,000 above 160
Descartes, Einstein, Spinoza

174 to 200
0.0099%
1 in 1,000,000
above 174
Shakespeare, Goethe, Newton

Look I see no Shakespeare, no Einstein, no physics professors....there is nothing wrong with not having a high IQ I know mine was high enough for me to make a 32 on my ACT and I\'ve had the lowest IQ listed on this board so far....hmm how very strange

I want you all to understand I don\'t have any kind of problem with any of you, but if you have no idea what you\'re talking about then please don\'t....I think this topic has caused me too much mental anguish...so I guess you guys can say whatever you want and I\'ll just keep laughing at every post I see..

Copernicus has some awesome thoughts and theories, so I can see why he would score in that range, but Shakespeare? He was a writer who contributed nothing to society but literature. How does he score higher than Copernicus?

Well Missa Hibiki, I can honestly say I was in gifted classes for 7 years of my life, but unfortunately my high school had no such thing as gifted classes (and neither did my middle school, even though they somewhat put me in the \"smart classes\" there). So I had to have some kind of IQ test mabob to get there, I\'d think. I dunno though, I\'m stoopid lolz

And also, spelling has nothing to do with IQ. Spelling is linked to memory. My dad is an AWFUL speller, but quite intelligent otherwise. I ironically am not a bad speller....but can\'t remember what I did yesterday. Maybe that whole \"memory\" thing is bull.

That\'s just the thing, though. People may be smart but not have enough knowledge. Sure, you could ask one of the smartest people I know; Necro, about computers. He knows basic information (like how to press the power button.. ) but doesn\'t know jack about the mysteries of DOS..and didn\'t even know about Scandisk until last year or so.

But if you ask me about computers (and I do believe I\'m not that intelligent of a person) I will be at least reasonably knowledgeable about them. I can\'t write C++ or anything, but I at least know what C++ is.

Necro not knowing about computers doesn\'t make him any less smarter, I\'d think.

God, I love it when people just decide they have a high IQ with no evidence or reasoning to back it up on.

I am certainly in agreement with some on this board, I forget who, I am terrible with names, especially when theres no face to relate them to, you can have a high IQ and be a freakin\' idiot. For example, I know alot of people in my school are very smart, however, they don\'t use their brains to anywhere near their full potential. This may be because it is popular to be stupid, people are made fun of because of intelligence.

Others that are smart, are stupid because they know they are smart. They believe that just because they have the capacity for higher thinking, they don\'t have to study at all, they then expect to make really good grades, but end up getting C\'s. I was once one of these people.

This concept also works with different talents. For example, if you have a talent for art, you can\'t draw a perfectly shaded piece of art the first time you hold a pencil, you have to learn, and you have to practice. Another example, I was gifted with musical talent, my instrument of choice is percussion. Do you think that I had perfect rhythm the second I sat down at my drum kit, no. I had to practice, hell, I still don\'t have perfect rhythm. It has, however, developed to become adequate.

It is my belief that an IQ test can help to show you your potential intelligence. That is why it\'s called an Intelligence QUOTIENT, and not INTELLIGENCE.

Interestingly enough, in psychology, there is no such thing as intelligence. This is because there are no specific signs or behavior relating to intelligence. However in the real world we can see that intelligence is very real. It is not recognized in psychology because there is no proof that it is there. Funny how science works, huh?

Psychology doesn\'t recognize inteligence? I didn\'t know that.

However, I\'ve heard that there are different kinds of intelligence. Such as ones for mathematics, language skills, memorization, arts, etc, instead of just one total intelligence.

This board has members from across the globe, not only America. Two of the staff members aren\'t even American.

However, I do agree with your statement. It does seem unlikely that the majority of members here belong to the rare portion of the population.

That\'s abit unfair. An individual\'s ability to do physics problems is dependent on their knowledge/education on the subject. If some members here have yet to be educated on the matter it isn\'t technically completely their fault. While reading a question is important in deciding what variable is each, it is not likely that one will be able to figure out a physics problem if they don\'t know the formulas.

Unless it\'s something simple like d=vt.

Charles Babbage rocks! I did a report on him.

Actually, I generalize that people WOULD be intelligent if they gathered here and took talking and discussing as a personal interest. Generalizing isn\'t I good thing to do though, I guess... so don\'t mind me.

Uh... because intelligence has nothing to do with how much you \"contribute to society?\"

It has never studied in it\'s entire life... no wait, it takes that back, it \"studied\" advanced conjugation Français for 10 minutes once, and it has never gotten a C or below in it\'s entire life... except phys. ed. This wasn\'t because it said, \"Oh I\'m so smart,\" it was because it already knew almost all of what it\'s tecahers taught, by the time they got around to it in school, and what it didn\'t know before then it knew by the time it got home because the teachers taught it. Hell in 10th grade it was the one helping the students with their math homework because the math teacher couldn\'t figure it out. This somehow makes it stupid?
