... remember Astro Boy? I'm a good fan of the series. I just wanted to know if people liked better the original or the recent version? I personally liked the old version. Great voice actors, good animation (for that time), and it was the original. The 'new' version was okay. It had a strange way of twisting the story differently, bad voice actors >_<, and so-so animation. It was Astro Boy's version of Mega Man (the show).

It would be so cool if there are any Astro Boy/Mighty Atom fans here. ^_^

Never seen Astroboy.

But, I have a neat-o holographic wallet of Mighty Atom (AstoBoy) from Japan that was a gift. :D

^_^ Astro Boy is very popular in its birth place: Japan. That's why I want to visit Japan but with a translator. ;^^

Something cool about that show. Probably the Megaman 3 Episode with Captain N Vs. Megaman.:lol: OVER THEIR DOGS!

In Japan, Osamu Tezuka (Tetsuwan Atom's creator, who made other cool titles as well) is revered as the Father of Anime...They have a museum dedicated to him and his work somewhere in Osaka(I think), and that's where I plan to go when I am finally able to go to Japan for work...:)

Hmm. Must find out where that museum is.

Correct. Tezuka did those too, as well as "Black Jack". Have you heard of it?

Yup, yup. They have a museum. It's called "The Tezuka Osamu Manga Museum".

You want to work at Tezuka Productions?! Wow. That would be so cool! Remember me when you do get a job there. ^_^ (jk) I have to settle with Disney... I dislike the new Disney. -_-

Kimba... ^_^ I have almost all the videos Right Stuf released. Unico I wanted to get a tape of one of the movies but it was in terrible condition. English Unico movies are hard to find...

I don't really like Black Jack. I read all about it and it doesn't sound like my type of anime.

Anyone who has a translator on their browser or know Japanese, head over to Osamu Tezuka @ World. They talk all about the animes he made, maps to shopping places, and other goodies. (The Japanese version is better.)

Astroboy was an old favorite of mine, along with Gigantor(some say the father of the mecha genre). I have this cool watch of astroboy, with 3-D face of him that flip up to see the dial.

Well anyway, I'm a little sad to say that no one has ported those classics to dvd yet. ...*Sigh* maybe in the future.....

Isn't that the anime with a giant mecha controlled by a boy and his control stick? I think I have a Video of that one... Yep. The Title is, "Gigantor, and Danger's Dinosaurs."

Black Jack is one of Tezuka's more popular works... His swan song, Blue Blink, however, was a big disappointment. Tezuka died before he was able to finish the animated feature, and his production staff carried out the work. It was good, but it didn't have the same Osamu Mahoo (Osamu Magic) that the other features had... It seemed like more of a mish-mash of his classic character styles, but the combination didn't jive very well...

Tezuka? Uh oh... If Yumi sees this, she'll get really talkative... Tetsuwan Atom and Black Jack are her absolute faves. We already went to the Tezuka museum recently... Yumi spent half the day reading all of the Black Jack books in the library archive section, while I hung out at the mini-animation studio. I enjoyed that trip, but not as much as Yumi did!!!:)

Usually it happens that way after the creator dies. The studio tries to do the stuff they use to do before the founder died. Just look at Disney; going downhill in animation and storytelling. (I'm getting sick of only one parent stories in Disney movies plus other factors.)
A "recent" movie Osamu Productions made was Metropolis. It was a good movie but it was very different from its original story. (But I kinda like the remake because the original was a little perverted while the new was pretty clean.)

No, find her! I would love to chat with a person who went to the museum and loved it! B=D (<-- Yup, you guys saw right. I took off my shades and are sitting on top of my head.)
I didn't know there were so many Astro and/or Osamu fans here. ^_^

I have yet to see that one... I've heard a lot about it and am in the hunt...

Hmm... Yes. A lot of us grew up loving Tezuka's work, and as a fellow artist, I have deep esteem for him and his legacy. I would like to know more about the museum as well...:)

Oh, Metropolis was made by Osamu Productions? I'm thinking seriously about getting that DVD in a couple of days! :) (Seeing any anime disks in my area is a miracle)

Lucky stiff... I liked that movie in the Unico catagory the best. On the scene when Katie is singing down the river, have you noticed Hello Kitty (or some character from that series) in the background? Scary. ;^^

Make sure it's made by them, not Fritz Lang, or you're going to get a silent film. :P

Always the good looking are the evil ones. He actually reminded me of Sephiroth or someone... Any way I liked his dragon form. I like dragons. B)

On all the movies, Unico has to leave his new friends. On this one, he couldn't say good-bye to them because the Wind and him were in a rush. I thought only saying good-bye with probably a hug and leaving was sad enough...
