Recently X7 has been catching my attention, and I find myself looking for information dealing with the game. I\'ve come across something rather weird though. Apparently, in X7 you have to unlock X to be able to play as him. I\'m sure some of you already know about this, however, I\'m not trying to announce anything. Honestly, I\'d like to ask all of you what your thoughts on such a decision may be.

Myself, I feel turned off by the fact that I have to unlock X to play as him. I don\'t particularly have any interest in Axl really; sure, I\'ll play as him, but he\'s not the first character I\'d like to play as. And Zero, well, I\'m plain tired of seeing him in the X series. Didn\'t he die and go to sleep by now? I\'m bothered that I\'d have to start the game playing as either Axl or Zero, but not enough to not play the game. It\'s just odd to see that you can\'t start as X for once, seeing as it is his series.

I want to play as Axl and Zero a lot, but I think it\'s bizarre to make X an unlockable character.

Where\'d you hear that rumor Break? I want a url to that one*.

My question on Axl is this, what if axl is Zero\'s replacement to destroy X? You do know in Star Trek: DS9 no one could trust a changling...

Meh..I never enjoyed playing as X much anyway.
Charging up weapon\'s just isn\'t fun to me.

I never enjoyed playing as Zero! I hate the Z-Saber! I got to walk up to the enemy and slash it 3 times, and while I\'m doing it I risk being HIT!!!!!!!!:mad:

My understanding was that X was only not playable in the intro stage of X7. Supposedly once you beat that stage you cna use X in any of the other ones. There are rumors that there is a way to unlock X for use in the intro stage.

Personally I really don\'t like the idea that you don\'t get a choice in the intro stage. I\'ve always liked playing as X better than Zero, though I\'m pretty good with both.

I think Capcom has focused too much on Zero. Other than it being revealed that he was the original virus carrier and his DNA being used for the nightmare, he has has no real relevence to the X series plot anymore. We basically know everything about Zero\'s past and to keep focussing on it is basically beating a dead horse. I think Capcom should shift the focus back on X.

As for Axl, until I play the game I have yet to form an opinon about him. Other than his shape-shift ability he esentially seems to play like X and just shows abilities that have already been used in X\'s armors. There doesn\'t seem to be anything that special about him.

The reason X doesn\'t like Axl is because he doesn\'t trust him. I think that is going to change by the end of the game. I don\'t think X will turn into a maverick. Where did you hear that?

I think the part about X being a Maverick comes from a dream Zero has at the end of the game. It\'s not really going to happen.

I think X just doesn\'t trust Axl becuase he was a member of the Red Alert syndicate and we all know that sometimes new characters betray X (like Double, Mac, or Magma Dragoon for example).

That really blows that you have to unlock X. I\'d imagine he shouldn\'t be to hard to unlock. Maybe the first mission in the game is to retreive X, I don\'t know.

Maybe X is in trouble at the beginning of the game and Zero and Axl come to his rescue so then, X begins to trust Axl for the rest of the game.

isnt X the main character? why the heck should you have to unlock the main character? thats like playing a game like the \"starfox\" series and playing as falco throughout the game! now if its something like X3 for the snes where you played as zero instead of X for like the first level noe thats understandable but unlocking him?
