The Wild Arms series, though limited to only two titles, was one of my favorite RPGs of all time. Though the battle system and storyline leaves much to be desired, it\'s the puzzle aspect that caught my attention. Without good deductive skills, you\'ll be hard-pressed to get to the next area in one piece... This is perhaps the only game that I didn\'t need Himeko\'s help with...

So, what about you guys? If you\'ve heard about it or played it,What do you think of the Wild Arms games?:cool:

Character-wise, Lilka and Kanon get my vote. Kanon reminds me of me, while Lilka is like Himeko in more ways than one... Oh, Himeko wanted to put this in, so...:cool:

Yes. As far as I can recall, both sequels of the Wild Arms series made it to the States... The Japanese opening themes in Wild Arms 2 were omitted, as one of my American friends told me... What a darn shame.

That\'s right. I have the English version of WA2 as well as the Japanese one, and I was annoyed that the opening themes were put out. But the game itself is cool and I agree with Yumi-chan: The puzzle aspect really is the defining factor of this game. Without it, the game would just be another plain old RPG.;)

For inexplicable reasons, I played WA2 again from the very beginning... I wanted to see what Personal Skills will work best for the characters for any sort of situation...

Um, Keiji... since you seem to be the only one who really knows this game, I was wondering if you can give me some character specific PS recommendations...(I finished the last game all right, but I was never able to beat Ragu and Angolmois with my Level 99 stats...:P)Hope you don\'t mind...

Sure thing, Yumi-Chan... Glad to be of help to a fellow RPGer walking down memory lane...

Okay, now let\'s see... First up, I don\'t really adhere to a totally character specific PS point distribution. Second, when you allocate points for these may or may not significantly affect your character\'s development according to when you upgrade the skills. Anyway, here\'s what I generally use for everyone, unless specified otherwise:

Tairyoku Up/HP Up: Always a constant. The more HP you have, the longer you\'ll last. Goes without saying that only Brad will reach the 9000+ HP mark, but it\'s good to get the others\' up to a decent number.

Kougeki Up/Up P Attack: Would you believe that I give this to the magic-users(Lilka, Marivel, and Tim) too? Well, After using those neat force abilities, if they\'re gonna restore their FP by attacking, their hits should at least count for much, right?

Maryoku Up/Up M Attack: Applicable only for the magic users, but if you put in some for the fighters, their MGR goes up further even after you\'ve maxed out Up M Defense, and it\'s also good for Brad and Ashley\'s respective Combines. I don\'t recommend it much though, since those darn hidden bosses seem to disregard this...

Bogyouryoku Up/Up P Defense: A must for everyone. If you really want to survive most of the hidden bosses attacks late in the game, upgrade this early...

Mabogyou Up/ Up M Defense: Same as above; upgrade this early.

Hissatsu/Critical: Again, applicable to all, even the magic-users. You can upgrade this at the later levels, and as your level goes up, the rate increases. At level 99, almost every attack you make will go critical. It\'s a lot better than Counter, since it\'s much more logical to inflict double damage in one turn, as opposed to adding another normal attack per enemy turn... depending on who gets attack.

All Status Blockers except Poison and Forgetfulness: Poison is easily cured, while forgetfulness only makes you gain 0EXP. Notwithstanding the fact that you can easily use any equippable gear that blocks that effect, even before you get the Full Libra. But early on, prioritize on Mafui/Ability Block, and Mahi/Move Block. These two status changes are very annoying, especially in a boss battle. So make all characters immune to them as soon as possible. the others? Your call.

I hope that helps. There\'s more, but I forgot the names... I\'ll boot up my old WA2 save file and double-check. I will edit this when I do.;)

Okay. I got stuck fighting that one bounty hunter in the red on disk one. And yes I did have that one specil Black Knight thing. But I could never get past here. So I decided to trade the game in. I intend to get it again. Tell me if anyone can help or tell me a site to help me beat the game.
There is a Wild Arms3 coming on the PS2? If there is can someone tell me when it comes out? Because Wild Arms is my favorite rpg (as you saw in the last post).

BTW Yumi, here is the remaining half of my PS recommendation list:

Kaifuku/Restore HP: Yup. Every time you FP level goes up, you get a decent amount of HP back. it\'s a much better arrangement than Lilka/Tim healing every other turn.

Parry/Adv. Guard: A good thing to have against physical attackers. When the probability of this goes up(much like the critical rate) you\'ll only have to worry about certain magic attacks, since you\'ll almost always block the next physical attack that comes your way.

Death Guard/Down Guard: If you\'re pretty annoyed with those darn death attacks, then with this on, no more worries about them.

Nouryoku Up/Up Parameters: Now this one you should really get. Every time your FP increases, ALL your stats go up a notch, even when you\'ve reached L99. Just keep in mind that when you use a force ability, the boosted stats will go down too.
