No. Bad idea. Despite the viruses, some little girl\'s parents have been sues because she downloaded some nursary rhymes off the internet. It might not have been on Kazaa, but it definately happened. The Recording company won and the little girl\'s parents were sued for a LOT of money.

Well if you use MSN and Download more than 600 songs you can get caught . MSN has to give your Info out to the Goverment , Its a Law . Or so I read in a News Artical .:D:P

I live in Hawaii and my Moms friend ( Works for the goverment ) said they were trying to catch Big criminals . He uses Kazaa himself. I also have a Cousin thats a Cop he uses Kazaa too , No one here has gottin Sued here YET .;)

Ah, the many misconceptios about file sharing....

1. Downloading Music
Noone has been sued for downloading music. There have been numerous lawsuits for sharing and distributing large amounts of MPEG-Layer 3 audio files protected by certain copyright laws.(mp3s)

2. The RIAA is against all downloads
No, only those that THEY hold the copyright for. Ill get into this later

3. Kazaa is the devil
This is very untrue. Kazaa was created as a way to share digital media as an art form and to allow people to enjoy others work that they might never have been able to.

4. It is illegal to download Rockman.EXE episodes
This is the most untrue myth of them all. Let me first explain something.

RIAA
Recording Industry Association of AMERICA

not Japan, AMERICA. They are the company that manages the copyrights of all the major AMERICAN recording labels. They have even stated that people in countries other than America cannot be touched by their lawsuits, thus proving that this is a centralized fight. DVD rips are made from copyrighted US content. Fansubs are from the Japanese releases and are done because fans do not like the official translations and dubs. I am one of these fans who does not believe in dubbing and poor translations.

5. It is illegal to download videogame/Japanese music
Again, this material was never copyrighted by American companies and was never released in America, therefore no copyright laws protect it.


And now for what IS illegal to download.

ANY US copyrighted content. This inludes most English music and movies, etc.

Well the people sueing Kazaa is getting sued them selfs , they used Kazaa because they wanted to track all the users that used Kazaa they also broke many rules that were stated in \" Terms @ Agreements \" section .

I agree with you though Kazaa was meant for other things , I think it was made by men in sweden or something ?:D
