The point is that it\'s pronounces \'Base\' as it is a name which is another name for a clef. Where did you think they got it from to be pronounced like the fish? Is it the top part of the helmet? To me, it kinda looks more like a bat, than a fish. Hehe! Batty boy!:lol:

according to keiji inafune, they didnt name them after the band members, but they just liked the names. weird. we may never really know.

Granted \"Base\" make sense, but only when compared to the japanese.
Rockman, Blues and the others (other then roll) dont have musical names in their English translations, so i find it fine to say Bass, as mega does in MM8. If Megaman was called Rockman here, then i would definatly call Forte, \"Base\"

Wrong-o! If the cut-scenes pronouce his name Bass then it\'s Bass. They were about to call his base *points to Airman\'s example* but it didn\'t sound right so they changed it to Bass.

Rush was originally known as Rash, which has no musical meaning to my knowlege. I suppose Rush could be a reference to the classic rockband Rush.(Fly by Night, Limelight, etc.) maybe some characters have no musical reference, like duo.

Actually, a duo is a pair of people who sing a duet, so even Duo has a musical name and I know for a fact that it\'s pronounced \'Base\' so there:P

I think that the game is not clear. It probably sounds more like \'Bess\'. These games are not always 100% understandable. I am not saying what the games sound lkike, I am stating the definate accurate truth of the matter. I repeat! If you still disagree, or are unsure, ASK CAPCOM! They should know! If they don\'t, then noone does!
