Take part in a personality experiment devised by the Open University in conjunction with the BBC.
The test should take about 5 minutes to complete.
It was developed by Dr Peter Naish.
Please fill in the demographic data below.
We will not pass on your personal details to any other organisation without your permission except for the purposes of processing the data for this experiment.
A tempory cookie needs to be set as part of this experiment.

My Results

You flipped the cube 16 times in 30 seconds.

The results of the personality test show you are an extravert
The personality test you took measured your position on a scale ranging from extravert to introvert.

Extraverts tend to be more sociable and enjoy going to parties.
Introverts tend to like spending time by themselves.
The way we perceive our world may be influenced by personality. This may extend to how we see visual illusions.

Levels of brain activity may differ between introverts and extraverts. This has nothing to do with how clever a person is, it just reflects a general state of \"activeness\".

Levels of brain activity may be high in introverts, so they don\'t want to raise it further by attending wild parties. Extraverts may have lower brain activity, and like to raise it by seeking excitement.

We gave people two versions of the test, one that asked you to actively flip the cube and another that asked you to watch as the cube flipped passively by itself.

This experiment tests the hypothesis that because extraverts look for stimulation, they become bored easily. Having found one way of viewing the cube, extraverts tire quickly of that perspective, and make the image flip. We think extraverts will be faster than introverts at actively making the cube flip.

But in the version of the test where people were asked to watch as the cube flipped passively, introverts will be faster, because their level of brain activity is higher at rest.

You can check where the experiment is headed by looking at the graphs below.

You were meant to really stare at it, but with your eyes relaxed and hit the spacebar every timeyou thought it changed.

The funny think is is that one said I\'m an extravert, but the more accurate personality test said I\'m an introvert, but I think extravert suites me better!

AimMan, your an intravert, then? I\'d imagine that you\'re quite smart! Am I right?

Press your SPACE bar each time you see the cube flip. Keep doing this for 30 seconds, until the cube disappears.

^ I took that one (there\'s two different cube tests). The cube didn\'t flip at all, and it says I\'m an introvert, heh.

Everyone in my class says I\'m smart.

I don\'t think introverts are dominately smarter. I think they may just focus better. But that\'s just me.

1 time? 0 times? That\'s odd. You must have had your eyes closed(just kidding).
