I\'ve always wanted to know, I mean, what gives it that distinct look?!?

Let me fill that void.

Cell shading is the kind of \"flat\" graphics that we have seen before in Bomberman Generations, Mega Man Network Transmission, Viewtiful Joe and Legend of Zelda: the Wind Water for GameCube and Mega Man X7 for Playstation 2 among others. It\'s a fairly recent way of doing graphics, which is made in a simple way. It applies to 3D games where the shading is flattened, giving the game a very cartoon-like feel. You end up with a game made in 3D, which can be played in 3D, but has a 2D appearance with the flat-looking characters.

Whil cel shading was originally called \"stupid\" and other phrases I refuse to repeat, it has proved it\'s worth in games such as Viewtiful Joe and The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker.

The only games in which I loved cel-shading was Robotech: Battlecry and Viewtiful Joe. In other games, it was simply not well done. *looks at X7* I rest my case...

X7 was badly done imo, and I hated LOZ: WW, but let\'s not argue with that...

CELL SHADING ROCKS!!!!:D

Sorry. Had to get that out of my system. The good doctor Cossack described it very well. The first cell-shaded game I remember was Monster Rancher 3 (which was great).Cell-shadin continues to grow a progressively bigger part of gaming. I\'m all for it!:D

Some people disagree, however. Many liked the dark, morbid appearance of games such as Doom and Evergrace. These games use techniques involving VERY heavy shading. I never liked it much, but some do. These people often oppose cell-shading. Cell-shading is not always a great thing, but I say we sit back and watch the magic. It\'s advanced!:)

It depends. I think the only problem with MMNT is the outlines. The cel-shading isannoying, though if you look at GutsMan.
