And im not so sure about Nightmare, i have played as him, he\'s weird.

I love his axe and he has that levitation move. Also, he has an unblockable projectile attack. The girls are hot but for the gameplay, it\'s all about Spawn for me:)

I\'ve started playing with Astaroth and he\'s better than I thought. I like his spinning move and that spin throw as well. Ivy is good as well, but I have a hard time doing her more powerful moves. Kilik is good if you can strike fast, like Maxy. Cervantes is kinda cheap, all I do with him are throws and I win easily everytime...

Like I said in that other thread, I started using the japanese voices. What the characters say makes more sense and they have more lines as well

I figured out how to do Yoshimitsu\'s sword hopping move. It\'s so funny and annoying at the same time.

That move is so easy to counter. You only have to jump and do an horizontal strike...

I find it entertaining. He just gets on his sword and starts hopping on the other guy. Reminds me of Commander Keen (and Mario to a lesser extent).

It\'s true that it\'s funny to watch, but it isn\'t annoying at all. Ivy\'s move when she grabs you from behind and the shards of her sword rip through you is annoying as hell...and painful as well...

I use Nightmare, and I\'ll probably never stop. I love \'dem jump-slashes and counters, not to mention the ol\' stab-lift-SLAM. And I love his drop-kick...It seems so out-of-place in a medieval-themed blade fight, though.

As far as voices go, I usually use English just because the Japanese female voices are so damned irritating (Xianghua comes to mind immediately.). Some of the other Japanese voices are interesting, though. Interesting fact: The voice-actor for Link is the same as the Japanese actor for Nightmare and Yoshimitsu (and I\'m more than fairly sure the voice for Link in SC2 is the same person it was for Ocarina--though the actor\'s Link voice is more accurate for Nightmare than it is for the Hero himself.)

I fail to understand how you could recognize Link\'s voice actor...since he doesn\'t speak in the whole game...

Anyway, it\'s true that some japanese voices are irritating, but some are more irritating in English (Yunsung comes to mind instantly). And in english, I didn\'t like how Yoshimitsu says most of the time \"Repent\" at the beginning of each battle, making me want to press the start button after my character\'s intro was over...

But if you like Nightmare, you may like Astaroth, since he\'s got easy combos as well.

Anyway, I dislike Xianghua a lot. And what I don\'t like about Charade is that most of the time I get styles that I\'m not good with (i.e.Xianghua) and I lose miserably....

My 3 Favs. are:1st:Nigtmare,2nd:Ivy,3rd:Kilik.

Let me explain something.

I don\'t care what ANYONE says, I will MURDER you with Mitsurugi.

First, I\'ll Relic, to a vertical draw. Then, I\'ll flip around and stab you, and then, bounce you up from the ground, and then, stab the ground with my sword.

That\'s how I\'ll kill you.

I rock with Mitsurugi, so naturally, he\'s my favorite.

Wow. Quite an adverse bunch of replies here. Apparently, Soul Calibur 2 is another very successful fighting game, as it has no one dominant character.

Hmm... I like the way you can hurl people into the air with Sueng Mina\'s pole, and then beat them senseless when they hit the ground. Ah, but with Sueng Mina, you must remember to stay away from the extra wind windmill stages on the Weapon Master mode... for certain reasons....:P

my fav character has to be cervantis(spelled wrong) because he does a cool move if u do left and triangle and circle at the same time.

I don\'t care about the characters, but I tend to be a Maxwell person. I use him often because I use Law on Tekken and the moves are the same.

Mitsurugi all the way! He\'s just so fast and kick@$$. Anybody that\'s fast is good. Rapheal is pretty cool (though cheap if you button mash your vertical strike) I just like kendo and fencing, so Mitsurugi and Raphael are my men.

If I\'m gonna bump, might as well be for a good reason. I use(in order of skill): Xianghua with Soul Calibur(my wife, you can\'t have her), Ivy with Alurane, Nightmare with Soul Calibur, Cervantes with Phelgethon or Lethe, Mitsurugi with Masamune or Damascus Sword, and Talim with Soul Calibur.

No, no disrepect intended, but that simply means you suck. With that character, at least. My friends all use Nightmare whenever they play me (along with Mitsurugi and Seung Mina) because they NEED the reach to keep me off them.
I use Maxi (uber fast c0mboz) with the cheap Y-mash attack of Raphael. Talim and Assassin usually round out my roster, although in 8-character matches the remaining 4 are Yunsung, Sophitia, Charade, and Cassandra.

Talim, Kilik, and Zasalamel are my Top 3, but i can fight pretty well with Cervantes too, and my custom character, since it can use Soul of Talim and Soul of Zasalamel.

my friend loves Cervates (as a fighter of course) and likes too use his attack where he throws someone in the air, catches him with Nirvana and shoots a few times, and throws them off. (for thos e who didn't know, one of his swords is partly gun, you can see that well in the SCIII intro, where he's fighting Ivy)

i killed him with that move, hehehe. he was so pissed off
