Megaman and Protoman are brothers, making Protoman the older one.
But thats not important... like Megaman was found by Dr. Cain and transformed into X.

well bax you see protoman and megaman are not brothers*sighs*if you have ever played mmbn you would know that megaman and lan are brothers not protoman and megaman you see lan originaly had a brother named hub and im not kidding even though hub is a weird name but anyways an accident had happened and im not sure wat but hub died and his memorys and stuff was transfered to the computers into a net navi and was called megaman so thats the true story...

but any ways i think they are the same cuz they are not only both red but have a similar body structure

We\'re not really discussing the Battle Network series here. It\'s too difficult to place on an official timeline. I\'m pretty sure Battle Network Protoman\'s similarities to Zero are mostly for cameo; they gave him the long hair and sword to make reference to the old one, not to actually link them by identity.

We\'re discussing Protoman to Zero from Megaman series to X series. Protoman is really sort of Megaman\'s older brother, since he is basically the same desingn and was created earlier. Is Battle Network really the only series you know? You should broaden out.

Hello, what are you bafoons babbling about, of course Zero is NOT Protoman... rockman.exe has nothing to with the real megaman series... Zero is NOT Protoman and never was. He was the first robot to be built as a prototype for Rock and he was around before Rock was, Dr. Light and Dr. Wily built protoman together... don\'t make me tell you the entire story..u all know it, i hope...
