Not get rid of Spam altogether, you can\'t do that. But change the ratio of posts to spam back in our/their favor like this board.

Friends, posters, forummen. I stand before you today, to announce that I\'m throwing in the towel. I\'ve been defeated, I\'m washed up.

But...I know there were a few of you who believed in this, in me. I felt that it wouldn\'t be right to leave the war without giving you all a gift.

The thread never gotten much spam forums, and it\'s months old. I though the towel got threw into the trash along with the idea.

What I\'m really gonna say is:
While it may very well be possible to completely rid our place of spam, it would take several manhours...and a lot of time...and cooperation. Furthermore, only more spam would show up to take it\'s place. It\'s yin and yang here MX. You can\'t have one thing without the other. In this case: Non-Spam, and Spam. You can\'t truly destroy spam, because it will always be there. Maybe not in the spiritual sense I\'m talking about, but something is bound to happen. In order to truly destroy it, you have to create severe rules, to stop it from happening. But it\'s gonna happen anyway, so you have to quash it again. Yeah, this reminds me a lot of Yukimura Sanada\'s story on Samurai Warriors... fighting against huge numbers, proving his worth until he eventually sees its a lost cause... and then continuing on to fight alone, with only Kunoichi as his ally. Pretty dramatic stuff.

Yeah, it\'s probably a better idea that we just fight as our own independent unit in the war against spam, ya know? Each doing our part.

I had to do a little bit of thinking. It wasn\'t a bad idea, I was just going about it wrong. Thanks to Sage, I have a new place to wage the war. Over on OuterOrdi in any case. My dream will live.

Uhhh..you know, this reminds me of the United States. We have our own spam here that we should take care of..but lets go to other boards and take care of spam over there!

He\'s banned, can\'t do anything to prove it\'s wrong, but looking at his theory.. I swear. xD

Anyway, the spam here rarely happens anymore and compared to other sites it looks like we got queen england\'s maiding service in here.

I know this one message board,and this person STOLE my friends user name,and used the username to spam so it\'d look like she did it!We should have a spam patrol...Like,some of us should warn spammers like 2 times.After that,they get a month\'s banning.They spam more,it extends.The one month becomes a two month,and so on until they get so sick they pm one of the spam patrol after they banning is over,saying that they won\'t spam anymore.SC(spam control)could also tell new members about spamming,especially if this is they\'re first mb..


If this is too long,sooorrry!!!I just really don\'t like spammers,so after reading the topic,I had the spam control thing.

Now you\'ve pointed out the spam control thing, the old Ikonboard this place had before it crashed had a spam control thing which forces people to wait a minute after posting before they can make a post again.

Since this board still doesn\'t have the feature I\'m wondering if there is actually no such feature for this board...

On my board, it works by if someone SPAMs, tghey get warned. The icon under their name changes and their rank turns to Warned Once. If they continue, they go onto warned twice, and another icon comed next to the current one. The third time, is Banned. The third icon comes next to the first too, and they are banned. Whatsmore, everyone can see when they\'ve been warned and banned. There is one way to cheat the system, but I\'m not telling.:P



The system is in place, but you only have to wait 30 seconds.

Would anyone mind if that delay would be one, two or five minutes, by the way? I know I wouldn\'t since I spend most of my time reading over here.

I think it gets a bit bad, as what if you\'re a fast reader, or there\'s a short post you want to reply to?

You could put some more thinking into making your reply then. Or slack a little off for a short while with some game.

But yeah. It\'s one thing or another. Spamming won\'t be going fast then, but then there\'s the waiting deal, or the spammings can go rampant, but hey, you don\'t have to wait long anymore!

*Posts here for the first time in ages* I don\'t even see the point in how that works, but it wouldn\'t really do anything to stop spammers from being complete asses. Now if each warn level had an extra restriction on it, it would stand more of a chance, albeit not much, of working.

If they don\'t care, I don\'t care when they get banned:P. However, I haven\'t seen a single SPAMmer. However, we have only two active members and neither of us post much. Please be an active member? </shamelessplug>

BTW, It\'s not so easy to cheat the system, now. Also, this doesn\'t necessarily mean the SPAMmer can\'t be banned straight away, or go straight to Warned Twice. It just depends how serious the SPAM is.
