FF VII is one to start with if you want to be cool. But a good beginer\'s FF game is FFIII. (both of them) There is one for the NES and the SNES. Take note that they are two completely differant games.
Final Fantasy games are just simple RPGs, basically. But they have some sort of special essence to them that just doesn\'t allow them to die out.
So, if you know how to play RPG games, then you\'re ready to delve into the immersing world of Final Fantasy. I suggest, however, that you start with the very first one and progress from there. The stories do not intertwine, but it is so much more satisfying when you beat a series in order. Final Fantasy VI will probably be the one you will remember the most, just because it\'s so good. Final Fantasy VIII is alright as well, but it is just way too long.
Well, it\'s your decision. You have two choices: listen to me or don\'t. Your move, basically....
...It\'s your life is all I am trying to say. Do with it as you please.
Reality swirled in a wholly blue manner, revealing absolutely nothing of merit. Things flashed madly in and out of existence like some entirely other sort of phenomena. On a whim, Kurt Vonnegut imploded, taking a sizeable hunk of Massachusetts with him. However, seeing as Massachusetts wasn't entirely sure it existed, the chunk wasn't all that big.
I started with FF8 myself.
But I\'d recommend FF3 for the SNES as a start off for complete n00bs. FF8\'s Junction system is abit hard for idiots to grasp.
FF9 wouldn\'t be a bad starter game, either. You just should decide if you\'d want a 3D game (9) or 2D (3) to start with.
And no, FF7 does not make you \'cool\'.
i liked ff3 the most but just what i think but in the new ff after ff 8 or 9 dont you think the charactors are geting more and more femanent
looking im like dude and the girls they keep pulling more and more clothes i wonder what the programers are thinking some times lol anyway im not geting anymore on that i think ff7 and ff6-ff3 were my most fav
ummmmmmmmm a finak fantasys are easy so just pick your favorite char, storyline or wutever
I thought Hundreds of Devil heads and black text was spam and not allowed... Oh well, you\'ll find out soon enough, you don\'t need me to tell you
If you want to play Final fantasy, then play Final Fantasy. All the games are designed to be easy in the start
The world is a flaw in a perfect nothing...
I recomend if u are going for 3D, then the best 3D 1 in my opinion is 9 and is the easiest so....... the best out of the 2D ones in my opinion is 5 so u may want to try that 1. most of the final fantasys are on the ps1, 1,2,4,5,6,7,8,9
10 and 10-2 is on the ps2. i dont know what 3 is on i have not played it. i wouldn\'t recomend starting with 8 or 10, dont know why i just wouldn\'t.

My opinion is to play FFVII then play FFX then FFX-2. I didnt like FFVII or FF 9.
I love FFVII because it so funny at the beginning, it is really cool, there are tons of sidequests, and great graphics. FFX is good because it is fairly simple, has a turn table that tells who\'s turn is next, you can change characters in mid battle, and of course awsome graphics. FFX-2 is the only sequal in all the FF, even though the battles are real time you will get quickly through them, the controls are smooth, about millions of sidequests, even the storyline changes if you dont do certain things, and of course no FF game can do without the awsome cutscenes and even more awsome graphics.

Hmm...for a beginner\'s game? Depending on what you want to play, I\'d suggest different games.
If you want to start at the very beginning of the Final Fantasy series, then (of course) go for Final Fantasy I. I\'d personally suggest you play the new PSX version because at least the graphics are more tolerable, and I\'d assume that the gameplay is slightly smoother (even though I haven\'t played it before).
However, FFI, IIIj, and V are all character-class oriented games. If you want to sample the kind of storyline-focused (also known as \"interactive-story\") game, I\'d recommend you start with FFIVj/IIus (SNES) if you prefer 2D or (I think) any of the FFs FFVII and beyond (although a lot of FF fans don\'t hold a very high opinion of FFVIII, I\'ve noticed). I personally haven\'t played anything past FFVII so I can\'t say for sure about those games, but after FFV there (so far) haven\'t been an more FF games in which you pick character classes, and in all the games (except FFIIj) other than those three, characters come with their own abilities and unique characteristics.
If you want to enjoy an FF game with excellent gameplay, go for FFV. The class system in it is one of the best ever made, and you\'ll know why if you play it. Hint: Mimics are the best class, in my opinion, because they can do virtually anything. FFV differs from the other character-class-oriented FF games in that there\'s some plot-emphasis in terms of the characters in your party.
If you want to play a game with really great music, I\'d recommend either FFVI or FFVII (I prefer FFVI myself). If you want to play what is arguably the most famous of FFs, go for FFVII.
If you want to start off with a crown jewel of the FF series, then I\'d recommend FFVI. I am still amazed at how well crafted that game is, and it\'s both a fun game to play (despite its many famous glitches) as well as an extraordinary story to enjoy. If you can\'t get your hands on that, get FFVII, which has arguably the most complex (and most unusual (while still being coherent)) storyline in an FF game.
Once you get used to the style of FFs, with FFI, FFIV, FFV, FFVI, and FFVII, you should try out FFIIIj or some of the newer ones (FFVIII-X and X-2). Only if you feel that you can\'t hate FF should you try out FFIIj--that game implemented the rather bad idea of stat-building in various ways--well, I definitely don\'t like it, but you might enjoy that. Again, get yourself the PSX version of FFIIj, since it at least looks better. FFIIIj isn\'t available legally yet (unless you own the Japanese cartridge and a translation unit that you can combine to make into an NES cartridge), but it\'s nevertheless a pretty good game (you can find translations online, though). However, word is going around that Nintendo has asked Square to re-release FFIIIj for the Game Boy Advance, which will complete the North American FF series.
Just in case this was confusing, here\'s the numbering system:
USA name/Japan name (system)
FFI/FFI (NES/Famicom, re-released for PSX on FF Origins)
(not released)/FFII (Famicom, re-released for PSX on FF Origins)
(not released)/FFIII (Famicom, re-release pending?)
FFII/FFIV (SNES/Super Famicom, re-released for PSX on FF Chronicles)
(not released)/FFV (Super Famicom, re-released for PSX on FF Anthologies)
FFIII/FFVI (SNES/Super Famicom, re-released for PSX on FF Anthologies)
FFVII (PSX, PC)
FFVIII (PSX)
FFIX (PSX/PS2?)
FFX (PSX/PS2?)
FFX-2 (PSX/PS2?)
FFXI (PC, massively-multiplayer online RPG)
FFXII (release pending...)
Note: This doesn\'t include Final Fantasy Adventure, Final Fantasy Legends, Final Fantasy Mystic Quest, etc..--other side series.
The best Final Fantasy is VII, hands down. I\'m no noob, but I just wanted to answer anyway.
The past is all that's gone. The future is yet to come. For now is forever.

Nope sorry, FFVI is the best.
I agree that FFVI is the best. FFV and FFVII tie for second, but are still extraordinary, just not to the level of FFVI. FFVI still amazes me, to this day, even though I finished the game several months ago.

i think FF VI is best for FF starter,
but i think FF IX is the easiest of all.
i don\'t like FF VII \'cause i think that storyline very complicated.
FF X not bad, but lack of side quest.
if u really want to enjoy the FF series,
i think u should start from FF.
in my experience,
if u play the latest first and going back to the old one, u\'ll be bored.
Like me, i started from FF VI to FFX,
after that i went playing FF origin,
i just can\'t continue after a few hours because of the graphic and system.
so, best for FF starter is FF VI,
easies is FF IX,
or u can just start from the start.:miam:
i am cold,
but i am cool.

If you can find the holes they\'re buried in, FF Legends games offer an interesting system. You choose from a party of four characters.
There are humans, who level up and use equipment to become stronger.
Robots and Cyborgs who use parts from other robots and equipment to become more powerful.
Monsters and Beasts who can only eat other monsters meat and use items to become more powerful.
Mutants, who rank up slower than humans but can use magic.
They are really old and are on the GB, so they\'re not worth it anymore, probably. The specs I gave you, by the way, are from FFL3.
Does anyone else think the \"sphere\" system from the new games is sorta like Mana in FFL2?
