I'm just a little bored and decided to ask about your favourite foods and whether or not any of you can cook.

I'm a big fan of French Onion Soup and Caesar Salad (not necessarily together).

I can boil water and put noodles or eggs in but that's about all the cooking ability that I have.

My favourite food? Don't have one really, I like lots of kinds of food and I don't know how to cook yet:(.

Marks.
The short one:2/4
Me:3/4

Me: You suck.

The short one: If I suck, you suck even more.

Me: If suck more, then how come I got a better mark then you?

The short one: (looks down at his paper, then mine.) Uhhhh.

Friend: Burned.

Its a true story. If you don't believe me, ask Zaleon.

It's kind of ironic in a way that I have no idea how to cook anything. My whole family knows how to cook and my grandmother is so good at it, she has her own TV show. It's crazy. I can't learn from her though because she has years of memorized recipes that she can mentally mix together and create new dishes from that. It's difficult to explain but basically she can't teach me what I want to know.

The type of cooking I want to do is 'Iron Chef' style cooking, where if I was given a bunch of ingredients, I could whip up something good. Like freestyle or whatever. That would be great... :P

Thanks for the link WindRider~, I'll see if I can make anything from the list.

NOW THIS IS A TRUE CHIT CHAT TOPIC!!!

I personally like CORN BEEF SURPRISE, which is:

Fried Rice (white) with garlic and soysauce
Scrambled Egg
Cornbeef fried with sauteed onions and garlic

Mix it aLL together and it makes the most heavenly bit of food you ever tasted.

Are you not? What? You don't understand me?

Do you want to expand on that thought? Like what you can cook well or what you enjoy cooking? And possibly supply the answer to what food(s) you like best? You don't have to comply with the discussion topic but it helps.

Anyways, that dish that Kei described sounds very much like "Yeung Chow Fried Rice".

Basically it's rice, eggs, shrimp, BBQ pork, peas, diced green onions and miscellaneous seasonings (soy sauce, MSG, etc.) stir fried. I only eat it when I'm starving. Everything tastes better when I'm really hungry.

Most of these foods aren't healthy but they're still pretty good....
Yaki Soba(Fried Saimin)
Mac & Cheese
Sausage Pizza
This ones ok I guess...
Musubi(Nori wrapped around rice, Nori is seaweed)
Cooking is not something I'm good at, I just use the microwave...or ricecooker...

I don't think I would dislike cooking. I would probably dislike having to clean up after myself. Washing dishes manually isn't fun at all (we don't have a dishwasher).

A taco brightens my day...can't forget French Onion Soup, though; gotta love that delicacy.

Then there's traditional Chinese potstickers... A terriyaki day's a happy day too. Well, I could go on and on, but I won't bore you all.

I have amateur cooking skills; not bad for a twelve-year old. I can fry potatoes, cut chives well...
You should taste my instant noodles! :P

I very dearly need to take Home-Ec.

That's exactly why you take home ec. You get to eat and you get the benefit of a school credit. I don't know how things are done in the U.S. but we have to get a certain number of credits to graduate from high school. I took home ec and I don't regret it, but it was probably one of the most frustrating times I've ever had to deal with. We were given a microwave cookbook which was basically a liting of recipes that depended on the microwave.

Foods that I can't make (recipes that I can't follow):
Microwaved stuffed potatoes - It didn't explode, but tasted really terrible.
Chocolate on a stick - This was an actual recipe that involved melting chocolate into a mold and putting the stick into the chocolate. My outcome was something so hard it could chip a concrete wall. Not kidding.
Oven baked pizza from scratch - I think we added a little too much yeast. It was mostly crust and a tiny little circle of toppings in the middle.
Nachos - Don't even ask.
Brownies - I learned something, brownies are flammable.

One more thing: Don't try to make microwave soup, even if it's from a recipe.
It just doesn't work.

*looks at Pockets post*

That is the sickest thing I have ever heard! No offence but MICROWAVE COOKING?"

I have no experiance with cooking, but at least we got to use a stove:lol:

I didnt mean to offend you or anything, but you must have learned to cook Potatos and Rice... if you havent, you shoud. Maby that way tou can try some of that freesyle cooking, I've always wanted to have a go at that but I've only had cooking for 4 years at my old schools...

Anyhow, like Zaleon, I love Tacos! I also agree with kenshin1001, Lasagnia is great! For some reason, I've always liked porridge. I also have many other favorites, but I dont know how to translate them. One would translate more like "Sheep with cabbige caserol".

I can sum up all the things i can cook on one hand:

Noodles
Spagetti/pasta
Porridge (5 different kinds)
Omlet
and Rice/Potatos (same thing)

Well, I like Tacos and Cheeze Pizza. The only things I CAN cook are

Frozen Pizza
Maple Brown Sugar Outmeal(storebought) But no one can match the way I cook it. Nope. I make awsome oatmeal.
Jelly Sandwich
Salad

And, I'm not allowed to cook much. My parents are probably afraid that I'll burn the house down.

I am a VERY picky eater. It is hard to find something I like. My taste buds do not mix with chinese rice. Yuck! I wish I liked more foods.....

My oatmeal, I-

Put 3 envelopes in a bowl
Boil water
Add a big scoop of country crock butter
Add water
Stir
And voila! Yummy! The butter gives it a great taste you can't let go of!

Oh, Pocket, where do you live, Japan? Well, credits are the same in the U.S. We need something like 24 credits to graduate. I will be a freshman next year. You fail a class in one quarter, you take extra time to do it 'til you pass. Like night school, and after school. Even in the summer.

I always hated summer school.....The voluntary ones.....My parents made me go three days a week! It sucked!

Yeah, I like the very good food. Well, very few foods.....

I didn't want to have to do this, but.....

Personally, I am a huge bacon fan. If anything with bacon in it tastes bad, it's never the bacon's fault. Also, I like shrimp. My favorite dish, I think, may be chicken and dumplings. My favorite dessert is strawberry shortcake.
