Well, a primary reason why he wouldn\'t believe in it would be because he was afraid.

Darwin didn\'t publish anything on \'evolution\' (natural selection) until 40 something years after he learned it, simply because he was afraid.

The Big Band theory and Evolution are very anti-religious...so it makes sense why he wouldn\'t want to go defying any worshippers.

He\'d get mauled ;D

Are you not? What? You don't understand me?

Actually, the fact that the earth rotated around other planets and that the earth was round, not flat was known as early as the pharaos. But when christianety came, they changed old fact to make roomm for what they wanted and put god in as an explanation. For example, it was Cecar that beleeved the earth was flat, and if someone defyed Cecar they were beheaded. Some astrologists did in fact state their oppinion, but guess what happined to them...

Ops, off topic. I\'ll just finish by sayin Einstein also descovered the nuklear bomb, but tried to get rid of the research when he descovered what it could do. (by the way, did you cnow that Einstein\'s brain was smallerr than an avarige human? Pretty ironic huh?)

Back to life on other planets...

Sure. Some would say, how could there be? We are all there is! But to them I say, how could there not be?

The universe is big. Really big. We are talking\' huge x colossal + gigantic to the power of \"man that\'s huge\"...in short it\'s bigger than you or I could ever comprehend.

However, it is finite. But with such size, you might not realize it. So, in that much space, with so many stars, there almost must be more life out there.

Even if only 1% of all stars had planets, and only .001% of those stars with planets where capable of supporting life as we know it, there would still be millions of planets that would be nice places for life to come about.

And what about all the planets that might host life that we are not familiar with?

I find it hard to convince myself that we are alone...
