In society, we are bound the by the moral and social-cultural differences and etiquette. These things govern our behavior and mold everything we do ranging from what and how we drink all the way to how we talk when we\'re using the bathroom.
But what if we were to just start cursing while we are evacuating whatever waste we may have in our digestive tracts? I\'m sure that the sudden \'thrill\' of saying such blasphmeous things would entice laughter, and an overall sense to low-self-esteem based on the morbid looks you would receive, and the thought of cursing....while using the bathroom of all times.
But why? Why do we hold such strict needs for etiquette in order to regulate our behavior?
I assume that most parents and teachers would say to support the \'moral\' upbringing of the next generation. But who are they to say that what we \'may or may not\' do, such as cursing in the bathroom, is wrong? Is immoral? Ultimately, morals are based completely on the religious and political views of leaders and high officials of society.
Which means that we are \'not\' in as much control as we though.
To make sure I stay on topic, let\'s discuss how this affects our behavior around other people.
Assuming that your peers would look up to and respect such officials as the ones who define morals, commiting infractions against these morals would lower your peers\' overall opinion of you. Since it has actually been established that friendship and belongingness is needed in Manslow\'s Heirarchy of Needs, this would threaten one of your personal needs. Hence, we would attempt to FOLLOW these morals to the best of our abilities, in order to maintain our friendship with said peers.
However, what if we disagree with these morals? In the end, the only thing we can do, given our current positions, is to accept these morals as ways of life, and to move on.
However, I am not satisfied with that.
I personally wish to MAKE these morals, rather than mindlessly follow them to \'the best\' of my abilities.
I\'m sick of listening to other people thinking they know what\'s good for me, regardless of whether or not what they say is true, I\'m going to live my life no matter what, and make my own damned morals.
THANK YOU!!!
Are you not? What? You don't understand me?
