Ok, It\'s because he is way too weak, and he knows he\'s too weak. He sucks monkey butt, so the only way he CAN win is to protect himself with his puny pathetic aura.

He\'s completely dependant on it, in my opinion. Most likely, he feels insecure without it! We all realize that without it, he would be mediocre in terms of difficulty.

You cant have a computor screen without a harddrive and you play megaman without a system and so you cant have bass with out the aura:D

I honestly have no clue. But, like others have said, it really is annoying in the games. I\'ve only seen him use that aura once in the mangas though. He can kick booty without it apparently. Rock is just a lucky bistard, with all those fancy style changes and soul unisons he has.

He is a weakling really. My brothers weak at battling me so he uses a strong aura.:D

Bass is weak. If zero could beat bass and megaman could beat zero, then that proves that bass stinks. That is the only way that he stand a chance since it makes you waste most of your good chips just to get rid of the aura which comes back like 5 seconds later.

Wow. that\'s pretty interesting. I don\'t have mmb1 I only have 2 and 3. But that is how he gets to be strong and he knows that he cant win without it.

i agree with mystic and zero exe i mean he is so weak because oh and if you pay atetion to the scenes a while before you fight bass he has a huge cut on fis chest and he needs to absorb data to heal it so he is realy weak and when you battle him if you pause it when he is about to break your squares you con see the cut i think and for a hint if you have two northwinds he is realy easy to beat

Okay, if we look at it from a hypothetical view, what if Bass didn\'t have the LifeAura? well, he\'d be below mediocre, for one. However, if you go by context clues (read: if you pull stuff from thin air), Bass would probably be just as hard to beat. This is because LifeAura\'s defense is so strong. In order to block just under 200 HP, not just once but many times, you would have to use an incredible amount of energy, which might be put towards attacking, rather than defending. Then again, it could be that Bass\'s LifeAura is used to sheild his incredibly weak body from enemy attack, since he\'s got A GIANT GAPING HOLE in his chest. so really, yeah, Bass would be pathetic without it, which is why he stole it after MegaMan beat the #%@! out of WWW, not before.
