Nothing if you don\'t mind a bunch of games that come out at the same time and are the for the most part the same. But they ain\'t that bad.

Erm... I doubt he\'ll reformat the entire site to a Pokemon site. That would be very odd and abrubt. I have no problem with Pokemon, but I\'d much rather it stay a Megaman site.

Let me guess. You "hate" Pokemon yet play Battle Network.

I never understood how the two were similar.

Both a series aimed at children.
Both have "trainers" and "pokemon".
The "pokemon" have "moves".
I do believe though, that the chips in BN are more like Pokemon than the navis themselves. "Gotta catch them all"

BN is expanded Pokemon.
Which is always why I make remarks like this, because alot of 13 year olds who think they're "TOO MATURE" for Pokemon go to BN, and it's the same damn thing with Megaman and angst instead.

The angst seemed to disappear after Capcom forgot that Megaman is Lan's dead brother.

And also add:
Lan is to Ash, as Chaud is to Gary.

I said "with Megaman and angst instead" meaning Pokemon has no Megaman or angst.

Catching all the Pokemon is not integral to the plot in Pokemon, you can get through the game just fine, there is no giant plothole filled if you get through the game with all 151 Pokemon.

You can keep telling yourself it's nothing like Pokemon all you want, but please don't keep yourself awake at night knowing you're playing Megamanamon.

Oh, another addition. BN has two "colors" now, as in two different games, one having a specific change/addition over the other. I wonder what other game series has been doing this long before BN.

Edit: And oh, can't forget the chip trading. I again wonder what game series did that before BN did.

Which reminds me, I could also get into how Aria of Sorrow (Castlevania) is a Pokemon ripoff as well.

Hmmm, could it be...Pokemon?

What I'm saying, is that the plot of Pokemon constantly stresses that you catch and train, wheras BN simply says nothing in that regard. But yes, the color versions are pretty dumb.

Inafune himself said that BN is a mixture of Pokemon and Yugioh. In an interview on G4, maybe on that Icons show.

You all make good points. But you are missing the most important one of them all: RPGs are largely aimed at children. (At least in the USA and Canada, that is.) I mean, seriously look at most Japanese RPGs. They star little kids and fantastic creatures.

And then you have games like Chrono Cross, Chrono Trigger, Xenogears, and Final Fantasy VII, all with complex plots, deep characters, scores of violence, and loads of philosophy. Hmmmm....

Japanese RPGs as a whole are aimed at the teenage group, not 6 year olds. Hence why Cloud, Squall, Dragonquest's hero (the newer ones anyways), Crono, Serge, Firion, and the upcoming fellow in FF 12, are all in their teen years. So the market can relate to the characters.

How can he not be a know it all when he created the entirety of Megaman in the first place..?

And Aria of Sorrow is a Pokemon ripoff because you collect souls which give you certain powers, and you can trade them with people. It's the same as saying Crash Bandicoot is a ripoff of Mario. R-Type is a ripoff of Gradius. Earthbound/Mother is a ripoff of Dragonquest. They all obviously "borrowed" ideas from highly popular games before them.
