WELL it\'s been awhile since I last posted a topic in here, so......yeah. My scanner broke, so I couldn\'t scan a pic to put on here, so I\'ll put up an oekaki I did today..

Here it is! Image

Doc, sorry I linked it from the oekaki board, but the site I use is down....

I think it shows improvement over your previous tries. A very inspired concept. Keep in mind that there are many tutorials for special sword tutorials that can produce great shine effects.

I like how you made the end lines of the white bands on the sword actually look like it was wrapped around it. (the curves on the edge of the sword) I seen alot of people line it up straight with other edged (like a belt on pants or something like that) which makes it look like it was part of it. They look too thick though. are they supposed to be like that?

oh... didn\'t notice that it needed more bands.

I meant thickness as in the hieght of band. You know... like if you a white band flat on a table and look at it form the side... I mean that kind of height. The edge curves of the band make it look really thick. ^^;

You\'re welcome.

That\'s a good attitude to have. Artwork is never perfect and an artist can always improve. The will to improve is important for an artist to have I believe.

At the same time, just have fun with drawing and try new things. You\'ll improve over time, all artists do.

Not really necro. Mosts artists improve. I haven\'t improved yet, and I know some people who also haven\'t. I\'m betting MegamanZero66 will though. :P

Probably not. I\'ll probably stay this way all my life:P
I\'ve been the same way for 3 years. non-improving. Oh well.

It doesn\'t always happen quickly or noticealbly. My drawings looked relatively the same from my ages 14-16, where they showed little signs of improvement. Yet I\'ve improved quite abit, at least in my opinion since then.

All artists improve if they have the will to improve AND if they have the umm..support to improve? o.o Ya know, tutorials, help from other artists..

I didn\'t improve my art until I came onto the internet, really. And then I got tons of free help so that was cool. =)

The picture isn\'t bad..the coloring goes outside of the lines quite abit though. The little details are a nice touch, and I think this type of shading looks better than your previous. In my opinion. =)

Yeah, I\'m trying to fix that, I did the whole thing coloring by mouse, so that it wouldn\'t happen, lol.

I like it how Sephiroth\'s image is in Cloud\'s blade. I think it\'s very creative! :D
