I just wanted to ask..what\'s the most frequently mispelled word you\'ve seen?

I believe that \'lose\' is one of the top five, for me. I have seen far too many spell it as \'loose\'. What is up with that?

Another one..is my own screenname! Why do people spell it as Hallow?! It is some kind of taunt..because they know I like Halloween and kinda wanted my name to deal with Halloween in the first place? :( I have no problem with that mispelling..but it happens alot.

So..how about it, what\'s the ones you\'ve seen the most? And I\'m not talking about abbreviated words..like u and lol and omg.

I\'ve seen several, but I\'ve been the cause of most of the ones I\'ve seen. I\'d elaborate, but it\'s 1:10 AM over here

I learned that \"lose\" is a real word not too long ago, so I\'m still trying to get this one right. Give me a chance ;)

After seeing \"Cossack\" butchered so many times, I do wonder why people can\'t get it right... At least, I can let \"Cossak\" slip because of Battle Network. I\'ve seen \"Cassock\" a lot, which is similar to the mistake that people do on your own username. I suppose that people just can\'t be bothered to check the proper spelling, and do it from memory.

I think there are two duos that happen a lot:
\"your\" vs \"you\'re\"
and
\"their\" vs \"they\'re\"

What\'s so difficult in getting them right? :P

Quite true. I remember back in second grade, they devoted the entire second half of the year towards teaching us to use those words in context. The best part was that most students still could not use them consistently.

As far as frequent words that go misspelled...what about symbols? People are always trying to say

\"What the heck!?\"

And instead they are all like...

\"What da\' heek!!!!11!!!!?/1!///???\"

It\'s only about two key strokes people...

I\'m not too fond of people who spell thanks as \'thanx\'. \'Thx\' is somewhat acceptable because it\'s actually shortened but come on... \'Thanx\'?

Anyways, words that give me a hard time are: disappeared (I keep thinking there are two s\'s) and other words where it sounds like there are two sets of double letters, like comemoration (I sometimes think it\'s commemmoration) and such...

Being a dyslectian (I think thats right) And not being a native Englih speaker, I get tons of stuff wrong... I always struggle with the word \"Becouse\" (See? Bet I got it wrong again,) along with a heep of other stuff I always mispell

However, I can\'t stand that kind people who actually know how to speak English, and write like they are missing a finger. For example: \"wtf n00b, woot dat 4?!!!111!11 Any1 got mony 4 me 2?!111 ROFLMAO!!1!11 K\'\\\' C ya ltr mn!!111\"

I would respect that person a lot more if he/she was able to write that in proper grammar.

I tend to accidently type short-handed even in essays and term papers. One time in a paper I accidentally put lmao. Not good.

The past is all that's gone. The future is yet to come. For now is forever.

I'm not here often. I've usually been at overmyhead.net, but fear not. I shall return.

Hilarious.

And well Doc, I\'m talking about newspaper editors, people who make tv commercials..I\'ve seen them have mispellings of \'lose\' all over the place. And they\'re supposed to be EDITORS that know how to spell. Oh well. o.o

I used to have alot of trouble with decision and permanent.

Phew.. you won\'t believe how many misspelled words I\'ve seen. I\'d rather not list them all. I do, however, see \" alot \" instead of \" a lot \" a couple of times... :: Cough. :: That\'s not a big mistake, though. I do that myself sometimes.
