Read this=P
36.90 posts per member
2.74 new members per day
55.96% of all members have posted.
Notice the members we get a day and notice how many have posted at least once.Thats not all of it but thats what I wanted to put,Half of these names never post so it really would\'nt be much of a celebration.

Whoa...Unknown is a predictor of the future, he posted before Wind but knew exactly what he was going to say!
I used to hear people tell Slash the same thing, to delete members who haven\'t posted. He said that it would take up too much time, and would be pointless..which is pretty much true.

Looking for me elsewhere? Maybe look at my Fediverse account for some more-or-less random postings! If you're a gamer, check out my Osmium profile. I'm building that tool!

Is the burning necessary?...Maybe...
At least do it the dignified way, and put them in a cremation oven.

Too bad it had to be a spammer\'s account, and was banned today

Nothing but non-spamming members? Good luck on that.
Blue Silver, you are a genius! Why don\'t you try that? I don\'t mind doing it if I don\'t sit next to Windrider. Sorry, man. I just don\'t want blood on my sleeping bag.
Why don\'t we do something for the acutual 2000th member?

The past is all that's gone. The future is yet to come. For now is forever.
I'm not here often. I've usually been at overmyhead.net, but fear not. I shall return.

I still wonder why so many people want to have the inactive accounts deleted. You pointed out the only real benefit from this: it makes looking through the memberlist easier. The space taken in the database isn't a concern.

This has been discussed many times since 2004 of course (wow 5 years with the same board and no mass topic delete!), most websites do this I think. If you wanted you could write a script or something that would run itself say, once a year, if it's easy to do so.
This is a bit less relevant now that new accounts have to be confirmed by e-mail. Accounts which never get accessed are deleted within seven days of the original registration, which helps cutting down on the list.

To be fair, I know some people who like to open accounts, in case they get bored with other boards. Or as a fall back plan incase something were to happen to them on another board.
Which reminds me, I kind of need to delete my account at the Sprites Inc Boards. Some of them are not exactly friendly people.

How can you tell what number you are!?

Go to your profile and look at the member id in the address bar.
Holy Hell, is this right... my number is 3912.
Wouldn't that mean there would or could be a possible 4000 members here.

Actually according to the most recent member notice, we have 10914 members.
Better idea: look at the stats page. We're currently sitting at 3874 registered users.
Unfortunately, for the last year or two, we've been fighting a wave of spam account registrations. This made the account IDs rise much faster than expected. We delete the accounts as they come, but we don't change the IDs to account for that.
