But Star Trek has androids, just like MMX. It is very possible for a hologram to be able to have feelings and be sentient, as well as have a grasp of the senses.

You also have to think where Capcom is getting their reference material. Lucas and Gene Roddenberry are two suspects on my list.:miam:

With their technology, I\'m sure it would be possible for Dr. Light to download his sentient mind into a computer system which allows him to access holographic machinery and such. If it is possible to create entirely sentient robots from scratch than it is probably possible to creat them from and already existing sentient mind.

Maybe Dr.Light is Father Christmas, giving X armor parts as gifts...

I don\'t know if that was Dr. Light\'s lab in Zero\'s dream. Don\'t forget someone woke Zero up in 21XX and maybe they were the ones killed in the dream. I\'m not really sure on that though.

As for whether or not the good doctor is still alive, I believe that he created an AI system for the upgrade capsules and imprinted his personality and knowledge on it. I\'m still not sure how he was able to repair X after the Eurassia incident if he only exists as a hologram now since Light has never before done anything to indicate that he can leave the confines of the capsules.

That\'s true, all what ever was left of Dr. Light was sealed into the capsule with X. Dr. Light has made multiple Capsules for X, each with their own Armor and Ability and has hidden these Capsules all over the world for X to find, so Dr. Light can give X the Enhancements he could not give him when he was alive. In other words, Dr. Light is still working from beyond the grave. Why could Dr. Light give MMX the equipment when he was alive? I guess either Dr. Light\'s time was running short and death would be knocking on his door soon, or the Armors were to be scanned over the years until they were fully operational. Exactly how many Capsules has Dr. Light hidden for X to use at his disposal? And how come X, in the more previous MMX games, cannot use the Armors until he has all 4 parts?

I don\'t know know how many capsules he created. But since normally when you revisit a stage after getting the upgrade from a capsule the capsule vanishes(It did in the SNES games I haven\'t checked this out on the later ones) It could just be the same four capsules over and over again.

Supposedly the reason for not having the operational armors until after all the parts are collected is a \"security measure\". This is unlikely since supposedly X is the only one who can use the armors and no one is capable understanding the armors well enough to modify them to work for anyone but X. Also the hologram in the capsules seems to be able to distinguish who is and isn\'t X\'s ally and thus would only give the program to X, Zero, or someone who is a confirmed ally. Maybe the capsules are no longer capable of converting the data into armor like they could previously. That would indicate that the capsule are breaking down and may not be of much help in the future.

I think the real reason for the armor situation is that Capcom just didn\'t want to make all the different sprites neccesary to sport the individual pieces of armor of all the new armor sets they introduced in X5 and X6.

I think MMBN has nothing to do with the original series and the X series. Though Capcom would most likely have some parallels between.

No. There\'s MM, X, Zero, ProtoMan and othere\'s but there aren\'t characters that are in both. FOr Example, Roll is in MMBN and Original. I think that they look a tiny little bit different.

To my knowledge there is nothing that connects the original series with MMBN.

I have not seen anything in the original series that refers to Navis or anything in MMBN that indicates it that Dr. Light\'s Megaman ever exsisted in that world. The total absence of robots in MMBN and the fact that nobody even mentions robots at any point would seem to indicate that there isn\'t anything like them ever exsisting there.

Don\'t forget that in MMBN, Dr. Hikari is a brilliant computer programmer who is more than capable of creating powerful navis like megaman.exe without help from Dr. Light(actually Hikari is the Dr. Light of MMBN) and there is nothing to indicate that Hikari recieved help from anyone in creating him.

If you have any evidence that would indicate a link between the series other than the names of the characters I\'d be glad to hear it.

Dr. Light...i wonder why the didn\'t stick with that name? Personally, it sounds better than Hikari.

I suppose the name change was to show that BN is not part of the MM-MMX-MMZ storyline.
But still, the name still means Light.

Okay. Here\'s how Dr. Light\'s capsules probably work:
Dr. Light is capable of programming true intelligence into his robots. He is therefore able to program AI into his holograms as well-these holograms duplicate themsselves and hide all over the world. When the Sigma virus broke out in X5, it infected each capsule\'s conversion of binary to metal-so the capsules must give the armor pieces to X so he can compile and translate the code himself(actually he makes Alia do it). Also, this virus affects the capsules\' auto-programming, so the code for the armor pieces cannot run unless there are all four together. This means that eventually the viruses may destroy the capsules.
