I\'ve decided to wait on the Sapphire drawing, I still have to ink it and it\'s buried under tons of other drawings. When I saw the official art for Spider, I was immediatly attracted to the char. He design is very well done IMO, and he looks cool! :D

Anyways, here\'s a drawing. I\'ve undone the hot link option so people can see it. Once the topic dies out or if my bandwidth starts to go nuts, I\'ll turn the hot link protection back on. So, click the linky while you can. :)

I gotta say this picture is quite well done, I like it alot. I\'m not terribly familiar with his design(I\'ve only looked at the Japanese site with the pictures about once), but from what I remember it looks accurate. Nice work. =)

Usually, I find something that makes the composision fall slightly out of place, I find that in most art. But for some reason, I found this work spotclean. The entire image falls nicely into place and spreads the attention to the entire picture. Also, I dont mind skechy art, makes it seems to be more work put into it. I\'m not implying that the picture is uneven, but the lines are half joined and is an affect I really like. Keep it up :)

One question though. My colouring program tends to leave tiny gray spots at the edges, of course this is normal (at least I think it is) but I\'m wondering about you spesific colouring method. Removing tose gray areas take away most of the original lines and makes the picture take ages to compleete. I assume you use photoshop, but does it have a function to solve that problem or do you use a different tecnique? Just been wondering about that....

As for Spider...What happened to all the cool names like Vile, Sigma, Serge and doppler?
Okay, Those are\'nt so original either..But Spider?.....I mean come on.

I have been told that the essence of being Splash Woman is not in attaining perfection, but in the attempt.

If so, then Splash Woman in general does not qualify as, well, human.

I admit I thought it was going to be a spider robot when I saw the name. Anyways, it\'s really well done, as usual.

You mean..that your lineart is umm..pixelated? Well, sort of..it\'s black with a fuzzy gray aura around it? Photoshop can help with that, yeah..with the layers. If you need help with that, I could always PM you or something. :)

Well, not pixelated, but yes there is a gray aura. I usally just remove it the usuall way by coloring over it, but this takes a lot of time. Mana allready explained the layers, but I don\'t own photoshop, so it leaves a minor problem...

Well, what program do you use?

Painter Classic, old program without a layer function. I do have Gimp though, but it runs incredebly slow on none Linux machines, wich also makes it pretty hard to draw in, so I rearly use it. (sorry I messed up your topic Mana :( )

Painter does have layers of sorts...it\'s when you make the canvas wet or not, I think..it resembles layers.

Quote:
Painter Classic works with layers that you can place on top of each other. You always start off with a Canvas layer when you open a new canvas. If you use a Watercolor Brush or the Liquid Ink Pen, you automatically get a new Watercolor or Liquid Ink layer added. If you look at the Layers palette, you can see that the Watercolor layer is selected. If I select the Canvas layer, I can use my pencils, chalk, etc. on that layer. If I select the Watercolor layer, I can only use the Watercolors. (To erase Watercolors, you need to use the Eraser Dry watercolor brush.) To flatten all your layers into one Canvas layer, select the little paper icon with the plus sign at the bottom of the Layers palette, and select Drop.

Quick Google search found that..so Painter does have layers..

And you didn\'t mess up her topic really. People can still post about her art..and the discussion we\'re having is keeping it bumped up to the top, so she\'s really not losing out on anything. :)

Strange... The tools described are not avaleble in my program...

Are you sure your not talking about Painter? It\'s a different version than Painter Classic, MUCH more advanced. I\'ve used Painter before, and the differences are large. I know it said Painter classic, but nither Liquid Ink Pen or Watercolor Brush appear in the program, nor does the Canvas layer... I know they exist in Painter though.
