Hello. I\'m having a strange problem in my Paint program. It seems that the text is not western english (my default language for my computer).





I think this started after downloading WP Japanese font (but I didn\'t do anything with it). I\'ve had this problem for about a year.

My running system is Windows XP Home.
The version of Paint I have is 5.1 .


Any help is greatly appreciated.

I completely forgot about this thing... Breakman, there\'s a test you could do to see if you have the same problem as I. Anyone would has the same problem can try this too.

Install \"The Font Thing\", which is a software allowing you to browse the fonts you have installed. When I browse my fonts on this computer, many of them display as a series of squares instead of the text. It used to display properly before that problem started.

I installed \"The Font Thing\". 18 out of 191 fonts were either blank or with only boxes.

So what do you think, Doctor?

18 fonts is what I would consider a normal number. Some fonts have special purpose and can\'t be displayed like the others. On my own computer, almost the third of all fonts don\'t display correctly in that software, which leads me to believe that this could be the source of the problem.

I tried doing some searches on the Internet, and didn\'t find much. Some support pages refer to fonts that can get corrupted by installing other programs. A single corrupted font can prevent a few others from displaying properly. Maybe that\'s the root of our problem. However, trying to find WHICH font is the bad one could be difficult...
