How many people draw anime or manga?Just curious.My friends at school don\'t draw anime or manga.Some others make fun.Trust me,I ALWAYS get them back.:P I like to go to the manga tutirals online.They\'ve made me better.:DIf anybody posts could you also say how you started and when,And why you were hooked on.
I was surfing the net about 2 years ago.I thought the art was cooler then \'normal\' art.:)

Ohhhh..there. I see it now. Now, just because your friends don\'t draw it doesn\'t mean they\'re not cool or anything. And so what if others make fun? I\'ve heard some psychotic furry artists actually HURT people, inflict pain upon them, for making fun of furries. That\'s just going too far, admit yourself to a mental hospital if you ever do that.

You can make fun of them back though, that doesn\'t hurt.

I started in 1997, after my brother got me to watch Vampire Hunter D and abit of Armitage III. He had already gotten into anime, but I didn\'t even know what it was. I kinda copied off of my brother, because I couldn\'t draw people for anything. I made my old character, Xero, into an anime form..and I made a few cat people, Sabre and Tabby. I was very much into a catperson phase after that.. *shrug*

Why I was hooked? I couldn\'t draw real people, so I went the anime route because it was easier. I think that explains it.

I draw Anime and Manga but first i need a pic to copy then i can change it. Criticise my Bass in the fan work forum.

I draw it because it gives me something to do and I can\'t draw real people.

REALLY REALLY REALLY bored: I just draw stick figure comics where each character gets a stupid and/or violent death.

If you consider stick figures as manga, then yes I draw manga. But if you don\'t consider stick figures as mangas, well...to bad...:(

To be honest, I tried tutorials and I haven\'t improved and never will :lol:. I can\'t tell the difference between magna and anime but I like both, they are both cool. I wish I knew how to draw...But it would never happen

Anyways, the difference between anime and manga...let us use the almighty Kenshin as an example.




There\'s the anime.. The only real benefit from anime is that you get to see the colors of things, and get to hear the characters voices.. The art isn\'t as good (no qualms about that, they have good reason for it) and it never usually details the story as well as the manga does..they chop it up alot, add filler, it gets nasty. (And for god sakes, Shishio looks like a freakin cosplayer in the anime, compared to the manga.. :rofl: And in my opinion, Saitou looks older..)




See, there\'s Shishio and Saitou from the manga... Notice how the art is better? More detailed? More badass? XD And this is the original way the characters are supposed to look.. Aren\'t those backgrounds totally awesome, too? XD

Of course, this doesn\'t fit for every manga and anime.. Some animes have better art than the mangas.

They\'re both japanese, but if you want to get technical anime is supposedly drawn by Koreans.

Uh... yeah, I draw manga/anime style... but I\'ve never actually made even a small fan manga (or an anime, obviously :rolleyes:) I had really crummy comics I used to draw, and I still do. They\'ve gotten a lot better. Anyhow, though, they aren\'t inked so they technically aren\'t manga, I think.
Yeah, anime and manga appealed to me ever since Voltron I think (interesting place to start), and since then I found many even cooler mecha-based animes, and got into other genres as well. Manga\'s sorta a new thing to me, but I am collecting them. (DragonBall 12, Ragnarok 1-2, Yu-Gi-Oh 1-3, Nadeisco 1, G Gundam 1, Tenchi Muyo: Samauri Space Opera and The New Adventures: Dark Washuu :D)

Hollow, I understand your points but what I meant is that they are still both similar and it isn\'t the bigger difference anyway I wasn\'t the biggest fan of anime or manga so you can\'t expect me to know who made it...

I draw manga. I dont like to brag but I am pretty good.others are definetly better than me. but I still like to draw manga.

There is a big difference between the two, I guess you just have to have an eye for details to notice it.

Just sort of restating what hollow said, Manga is deliberately and painstakingly detailed. (example: look at the first of each type of picture. notice in the manga the shadows cast from the hair, the slight shading of the robe, and the waves in the background.) anime isn\'t as detailed, because they have to draw a whole bunch of characters, and don\'t have the time or patience to shade it and take twice as long doing so.

Cool, well now I basically have the idea of the difference.

I like Manga art better than Anime art. Well... in most cases, such as Gundam SEED.

Manga is basically a Japanese comic book and has a different technique when designed... when making anime you put more effort and graphics into it... (Or did I say that wrong?)

I draw Manga, not very good but I\'m better than most of the crap you see in Nintendo Power fan art (j/k about the crap part :P) Still... I am better. Till they come up and surprise with the contest winner artwork. I then become amazed and shocked.

I have to agree, Hollow you kick ass!!! That is an awesome gallery you got there, how did you become soo good??

I like to watch the Anime cartoons but I always draw Manga. The shading makes your pictures look better and if you screw up with colours you\'d have to start again, unless you\'re not really bothered.
Even if you don\'t shade ti looks better.

i dont do well in art so i dont draw anime or manga but sometimes i try and it messes up

Thank you Hao, nivivon. (I need to do better art for my gallery.. ) And nivivon, I got \'good\' by alot of practice since 2001.

And well, you\'re partially right, Hao.. Anime somewhat takes more effort, since they have to draw each and every frame.. Yet manga takes a whole lot of effort too. Imagine having to draw an entire page of manga A DAY. All those details, all that hard work..

Both anime and manga take alot of hard work though. =)

And oh, to partially correct myself.. Anime isn\'t entirely done by koreans, just that nowadays demand for anime in japan is so great that they\'re hiring korean animators alongside japanese animators. Yay for the ever informative Necroleon. *hails*
