I had an idea for a fanfiction, and I was wondering if it was worth writing. I\'ll give you all the basic idea and you all tell me if you think it sounds worthwhile. Besides the vote, comments and criticism always helps.

Anyways, following the events of MMBN4 and the dropping of the mysterious asteroid that nearly destroyed the world, a military organization was founded. This special military division, the Net Association for Violence Isolation (NAVI), was created to defend the Net. The orginization raised Navis for use against criminal Navis, using special chips designed to transform Navis to \"PresData\". Supposedly, the orginization then kept them in solitary confinement chambers. However, the curiousity of an export reporter, Flash Reynolds, gets the best of him during an interview with the NAVI president, Proffessor Haven. When Haven refuses to allow the press into the criminal containment chamber, Flash sneaks in under the disguise of a NAVI employee. When inside the chamber, Flash discovers a giant machine, generating GoldData from the aquired PresData. Confused, Mr. Reynold reads a document outlining the \"Golden Gate\" military strategy. The papers contained an elaborate scheme to transfer the data of criminal, as well as civilian Navis, into PresData, which was loaded into the ever-growing GoldData. Once the transfer was complete, the GoldDat would be put into a kidnapped Navi, Enrita.EXE, and would gradually transform her into an emotionless weapon, which could be programmed to call forth unimaginable levels of power. Furthermore, JunkData from the deceased Life Virus had been used in creating the GoldData Potential Unit. In addition, Dr. Hikari\'s research for the \"Hub Potential Unit\" had been used in the development of the GoldData. The purpose of all of this would be to create an unstoppable force capable of bringing down any criminal threat. Reynolds, releazing the danger posed from such a terrible creation, jacked his netnavi, TriopsMan.EXE, into the GoldData Development Unit, and took photos of the GoldData container and the captured civilian Navi that was the proposed recipiant of the GoldData. Quickly, he then jacked out of the machine. Reynolds then attempted to make an escape, but was chased down by security. He jacked TriopsMan into the net through an employee\'s personal computer. TriopsMan then proceeded to the SciLabComp, to inform them of what he witnessed. Flash Reynolds was inevitabely captured...

Meanwhile where is Lan throughout all of this? Presently, Lan is Fighting in a hometown tournament in ACDC. After defeating GutsMan in the final round, Megaman recieved an urgent letter asking him to come to the SciLab immediantly. Alarmed, Lan hurried there...

And that\'s it so far. Please remember to rate it!:D

Wow... man, you come up with this stuff, and just now your twin brother is hearing about it...?
Seriously, though, I\'m surprised you could come up with something like this. By all means, if you have the time and determination, go for it!

To me, fanfics are a waste of time. If you have the time to write this, go read a book or go outside and play / do physical exercise. When you get older, you wonder what you did in your youth and you\'ll just find a huge freaking word document on your computer and you\'ll hit your head against a wall repeatedly for not doing something more productive.

I hate turning old.

If you really want to continue writing this, you should learn how to properly incorporate speech into your stories. Stories aren\'t quite as dynamic without dialogue or at least thoughts. Be more descriptive in your paragraphs and go slower with the plot. You don\'t have to explain the whole story within a heartbeat. Writing stories can improve engrish skillz so it might be worth something to practice now for some early experience.

The material you\'ve posted so far seems more of a guideline of events as opposed to a fanfic in itself.

As Pocket said, dialogue is almost a pre-requisite in such a literary work, and here it seems to not be present.

As well, you\'ll have to go into more depth as to what Reynolds experiences, and gradually explain more of the underlying plot as he discovers it. This way, there is more of a connection between reader and character. Try to take time in describing the events, not sparing the small details that make a superlative story seem to immerse the reader into [the story\'s] environment.
Having the story go at a slower, more \'suspenseful\' pace will allow readers to better comprehend what is occuring, and better appreciate these events.

Finally, characters need personalities and development. Including these elements will create emotional connections with readers, and make your work that much more enjoyable.

If you\'ve determination as well as effort, this literary endeavor will not be in vain.

I thought I said something about it being an overview? The real fanfic won\'t be written like this.:P

Anyways, I don\'t understand your hatred of fanfics. Writing is just as creative as drawing, so it\'s certainly not uneducational, and therefore, by all logic, can\'t be a complete waste of time. Unless you mean those \"Yugioh vs. Final Fantasy\" fanfics, or the \"WarGreymon vs. MetalGarurumon\" ones, that have no plot whatsoever.

By all means, go for it. Some people like to play in the outdoors, some people don\'t.
I too don\'t get how writing is a waste of time, some people find going outside to \'play\' just as much a waste of time as well. Writing is another form of art, just a different expression. Instead of creating an image on canvas for people to look at, you are creating a story from your mind for people to read. You could read a book, or you could try writing a book which is just as fun. Sure fanfics don\'t get the same merit as original writing, but they are still an expression like fanart. I feel that fanfics are made from what fans would like to see in a game, course that\'s just me.

Anyway, you have a good setup for whatever you plan on making. Just be sure to put in dialogue for an actual fic and don\'t ever force yourself to work on it, otherwise the results will be less than spectacular.

Father Carius: These sad events may yet be made to work in our favor. I wish to send Elena to Granas Cathedral immediately. It is rumored that his Holiness, Zera, knows of an ancient sacrament which has the power to cleanse the Soul of Darkness. The rite would free Elena and shield others from the taint of evil. We may again be able to seal the Wings again. Such an act would delay Valmar's return. However, those that follow Darkness will not sit idly as our plans come to fruition.
Ryudo: ... I'm sorry, were you waiting for me to give a damn?

[font=Trebuchet MS]The good thing about stories created by fans, is firstly the feeling of creating the story and not caring enough if the other people like the story or not. If you have to ask people, do you think it\'s good enough, that means you don\'t believe in your work much.

Maybe your right. Ah well. I\'ll have to hold off until at least Monday before I even start the real story anyways. Perhaps that will give me some time to rethink the story...

Anyways, if I do think I can make it, and I\'m not too lazy, I\'d like to give the story two endings, like a sort of choose your own adventure deal... but only once in the story. I\'m not that ambitious.:D

Pay special attention to that part, because it\'s very... very true. And it not only applies to writing, but art, sprites, everything! If you don\'t like a job or project that you\'re working on, chances are, it will turn out crappy. When a person puts their heart and soul into a project, it flourishes with amazing possibility. I find that my sprites often just LOOK better when I am inspired to sprite that particular character. While others, you can clearly tell when I lost interest.

So, yeah. Don\'t start this fanfic if you yourself don\'t like it 100%.
