Now, I have looked at various of other peoples sprites and have come to be interested on making my own. All I am asking is if anybody has any information on making a sprite please post and share cuz I\'d really like to know. I have no idea how to make a sprite so... ya know.

Also, If theres a board about this already I didnt know so go ahead and delete this I guess.

It really depends on what kind of sprites you want to make, exactly.

Personally, I love the MegaMan series. The classic, most of all, so I devote most of my spriting to Robot Masters and the like...

It might be hard to find Inuyasha sprites, so you might just have to make some from scratch, but I don\'t recommend that for a newbie. I haven\'t even gotten to that level and I\'ve been spriting for nearly a year now. Anyways, if you really have your heart set on making Inuyasha sprites, look for sprites that are somewhat similar to the chacracters to use as a base. MegaMan sprites are not good for this. Find sprites of humans.

Ok, but how exactly should I start off? Do you need a program to make them or what?

You need atleast MSPaint. Thats what I use. If you don\'t have that, you need a paint program that can at least let you create custom colors, zoom in, fill in(the paint bucket), and do that eyedropper thingy. Sorry I couldn\'t be more descriptive. I\'m tired, I\'ve had no coffee, and school starts in like 20 minues:cry:

SuperGoku\'s right... Good old MSPaint is all a person really needs to make a decent sprite. It\'s all I use, (But mostly because I dunno how to use the more complicated stuff.)

The way I start out, is I open up a new clean area to sprite on, and I zoom in. So I can put the sprites together pixel by pixel. You should always sprite with your view at least 2x zoom.

Worship their creator, as Mr.O.M.A. is awesome.

Oh, and for sprites, i suggest getting practice using Megaman (from Rockman and Forte) as a base, before moving onto the advanced stuff.

Alright, alright, now that I got what to use for it. So what do you mean pixel by pixel? I have seriously no clue on how to even take a sprite and recolor it!

I suggest you take a look at these 2 tutorials. The BnG one will help you figure out how to recolor(hopefully) and the second is a huge help on various ways to sprite.
Note* I didnt make them. Credit goes to creators.

No, we\'re giving advise to a fledgling spriter. This doesn\'t have anything to do with games directly, only indirectly.

(sorry in advance if i bumped an old topic)

Lets say that I have a custom sprite ready, and all of its movements are set on a sprite sheet (ex: recolor version of Zero from MMZ). How would i use MS Paint to animate it?

Simple, you don\'t. MS Paint does not have an animation feature.

If you want to create an animated GIF. just download a freeware program. Beware though, most last only a day, or are just plain useless...

I would give you a link, but I havent found a single one without those problems yet.

PY Software is good for animating, but after like, 15 uses, it starts adding the words \"DEMO MODE\" to the corner of your picture (which looks quite unproffesional) and does all this stupid stuff to make itself more inconvenient, like hiding a bunch of windows and making this completely useless ad bar. Over all though, it\'s very easy to use, and you can keep using the demo to animate if you don\'t mind the above.
