Just a few minutes ago i was dialing a number with 917 in it and accidentily dialed \"911\", a cop came inside my house and shouted \"ANYONE HERE OKAY!?!?\"
my dad came out and said why was he here.

That shouldn\'t have happened.

Normally, they need your name/address if you have an emergency... but I\'m guessing you didn\'t tell them anything and just hung up.

They would know your address because right when you call before they answer they have your address.

actually, my father is a paramedic, and i have a few of his friends tell me that i should never even PRESS 911, since as long as you call from your home phone, they know EXACTLY where your home is, and it will be converted STRAIGHT to their gps systems in the fire rigs, ambulance rigs, and the newer police or highway patroll cars, so be carefull when you get close to those numbers, cuz there is even a large fee or fine for a false alarm if the fire dpt. comes

Yeah what he said. That happened to me once when I was 10. I got grounded until June and it was March!!!!!!!!! I got grounded for three months because I was dailiing my friend number and acidently started with 911 and the cops came. But luckily, my mom has a bad memory so she forgot all about the whole thing and my grounding in 3 days.{yay for me !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!}

Omg!:lol:that happened to me,the only thing that would have stopped someone from coming over was if they could ask my mom what happened,and thank GOD she was home.The lady didnt get wat I was saying,I told her it was wrong number but she just kept saying\"If you dont get one of your parents we will have to send someone over\".The number I had was\"8911\"(the beginning.I know I dialed the whole number because it said so on the phone\'s screen thing.)Man I was so scared I never wanted to dial the number again.^^\'

Huh. That\'s odd. Guess they upgraded the system. =P

Then again, I haven\'t been kind of able to follow the info on 911 because, well, back then, you used to have to state your name, address, and the emergency.
