ohhh damn dr.cossack got a DS
how lucky T_T
Ohh kay, let\'s do this *stretches* :miam:
Nintendo DS - PROS
- Two Screens (both are Backlit)
- Touch Screen
- Backwards compatible with the GBA, also considered as an expansion slot
- Two Stylus(ses
) included in pack
- Built-in Microphone (Nintendo currently developing VOIP technology for use like a cell phone)
- Every DS comes with Picto Chat
- Every DS (at the moment) comes with Metroid Prime: First Hunt (demo)
- Wireless Multiplayer (WiFi LAN technology, reaches around 100ft)
- Wireless Global Multiplayer (still to be developed. LAN centers can operate as HUBs that can send signals worldwide)
- Uses Lithium Batteries which allows for up to 10 hours of gameplay on a 4 hour charge
- Games in the form of flash cards (quicker to mass produce, much cheaper to buy, no loading times)
- Price: $149.99 US, Comes with an adapter and a new type of controler/pointer, the \"thumb shoe\"
- Clam shell design protects both screens
- Reassurance that Nintendo has created 5 (successful) portable systems and has much experience in the portable industry, eliminating all other hand helds thus far.
CONS (i don\'t really want to do this . There may be more cons but I\'m sure I\'ll miss a few since I love the DS)
- Almost all games announced so far are based on already existing franchises (SM 64 DS, MP: Hunters, Animal Crossing DS, Advanced Wars DS, Bomberman DS just to name a few)
Note: Originals- Feel the Magic, Another, Meteos(?)
- Unknown success concerning innovation with 2 screens and a touch screen. (?)
- Launch titles are somewhat disappointing to some.
- Dead pixels are appearing on a number of DS\'s, however Nintendo has stated that this may occur with LCD screens. The PSP may also suffer from this.
- Lack of third party games (?) :conf:
- No joy/analog stick (but you have a touch screen
)
- Some complaints that the X,Y,B,A buttons are just a bit too small
Playstation Portable - PROS
- Large Screen
- Graphics are near the PS2 capabilities
- Can watch movies (up to 4 hours of playback)
- Can listen to music
- Large third party support
- Deemed as \"sexy\" (looks good)
- Uses disc technology - Can hold up to 1.8gb
- Has an Analog stick
- Has USB connectivity
- Flash card/stick port
- Wireless Multiplayer (still hasn\'t been tested yet but it probably works)
- Price: ~200 US (i\'ve lost the damn confirmed price >< but I remember it being near 200)
CONS
- Large Screen is unprotected
- Graphics will drain batteries
- Uses disc technology - Loading times - Battery drainer as the device has to spin the disc - G Protection required
- Some/Most games will require a memory card as the games are on a read-only disc (unconfirmed)
- Games are estimated to play for 4-6 hours
- There was some talk that game developing companies were issued with \"battery emulators\" and were told to keep their games within a certain battery limit. This reduces game quality because it has to be concious of the battery consumption.
- Although the WiFi technology has not been tested as of yet, 4-6 hours of battery life will require each player to be anchored to a power-point, else they need to pause the game and change battery packs.
- Portable music? The PSP isn\'t very pocket-sized..
You asked for it! Don\'t say you didn\'t ask for it!
Edit: well you have to expect edits
