Of course, IMO Baiten Kaitos counts for twice as much as X7/X8 alone.

Er... I don\'t know enough about Baiten Kaitos to give you any reference based on that. If there aren\'t any games you particularly want, I would suggest that you get the PS2 if you don\'t have friends to play with and the Gamecube if you do.
Also, PS2 plays both old MML games. *hinthint*

I already have a small portable PSX. So the MML ganes wouldn\'t be a problem if I got Gamecube.

Xbox is out, mainly because all my friends have it, and I get invited over so many time anyway that it would be redundant. Plus, I may be getting a free one soon so it doesn\'t matter much anyways.

I\'d get Gamecube because the only games I enjoy playing on the PS2 are Sly Cooper and Gradius V.

But anyways, X7 isn\'t even that GOOD..so yeah, PS2 only has X8 and Command Mission really. And Final Fantasy X if you\'re into that..

What about getting both if you can? won\'t that be better? Get the gamecube first then the PS2.

I think I got my GameCube exclusively because I wanted to try Super Smash Brothers Melee. Seriously, man, I\'ve wasted several long days of my life on that game (though that may be because people accidentally overwrite my game every 2 seconds:mad: ).

Anyways, if you want selection, go with the PS2. Many more games. Also, that\'s the way to go for shooter and mature games. If you want more graphics and possibly gameplay, go with the GameCube. Always outstanding graphics (excluding Medabots:Infinity).

I\'m not giving any kudos to Mario Party 4 and 5. After 3, they\'ve just been getting progressively lamer. 6 comes out soon, and it looks pretty bad as well.... Still, if you need a Mario Party, and you don\'t want to break out the N64, that\'s probably the way to go.

Two words:

Kamatari Damacy!

The crazy fun game is out for PS2 and it\'s only 20 bucks! =D

True, for practical uses, PS2 is the way to go. It play DVDs (to an extent), runs PSX games, and has more online games and, well, more games. However, I\'m not sure it has better graphics. I mean, a lot of the GCs are downright amazing. Crystal Chronoicle\'s in-battle effects and graphics were a good case of GC graphic marvel.

Still, for practical reasons, get the PS2 unless you have a ton of friends who come over regularly, are really into Mario and Kirby, or have a series you have to follow. Or if you want Super Smash Brothers Melee.:D

I have more games for gamecube but I like my ps2 games sorta more and I have like 5 of them not including Play Station games.Then again you also get a DVD player with the Play Station 2...hmm...Then again the Game Cube controller,you don\'t have to remember the X O square and triangle buttons.Also, you can link your GBA to the gamecube and you can have up to four players.But,you can play old Play Station games on the play station and you can\'t play Nintendo 64 games on Game Cube...hard to choose.

But really, Gamecube is better. In my opinion.

It really just comes down to what kind of games you enjoy. I can\'t honestly suggest which I think would be better for you without such knowledge; I can tell you why I like one console better than the other, but I can\'t help suggest why I think you would like one better.

On a side note, X7 shouldn\'t count for much, because honestly, it could have been alot better. But, basing from the demo included in Command Mission, X8 plays wonderfully.

Alright, let\'s see.

I enjoy:

RPGs: Chrono Trigger/Cross, Final Fantasy, Baiten Kaitos etc

Puzzle games: Myst/Riven/Exile/Revelation

I kind of enjoy, but not really:

FPS: Medal of Honor, Far Cry, Call of Duty

Racing games: Mario Kart, Chocobo Racing.

What I really want to know is which one of the two is better for RPGs? And if it\'s PS2, is Baiten Kaitos worth getting Gamecube instead?

Yeah, some gamestores will probably sell a used old model of PS2....

The new PS2 is actually PStwo. Like PSone instead of PSX.

Yeah that exactly what I just said, get both of them but get the gamecube first because its cheaper than the Playstation 2. So just do as we say and get both so you can get both of your favorite games that are for only one system or the other.
