That\'s just Christmas rush getting everyone cranky... I think personally.
Though I do realize how somebody who was personally touched could be offended by what Airman said, I think some of us were just so expecting someone to be a jerk that we had to pin it on somebody.

It\'s beautiful, really. And I second it. I don\'t believe Gutter was being cruel..he was just speaking his mind. I respect people that don\'t worry about what others will think of them.

Fine. My only wish for people who can\'t seem to get this is that you\'ll be the one who\'s gone, so we won\'t have to listen to your appologies. You\'ve been f%$#!@g warned, already.

Wow, lets wish death upon people because they don\'t show sympathy for a friend of someone on a messageboard!

It\'s not so much wishing death really. More like reinforcing the first idea of dying via not buckling, don\'t you think?

\'Aye. I didn\'t notice to many people got into a tissy over this little thread. Hmm... well anyway, even if you guys do call me heartless, (Oi, never said I was the nicest person in the first place) alls I\'m saying is that if I was in car wreck and I died because I didn\'t wear a seatbelt I would know it\'s MY fault and I wouldn\'t need a bunch of blokes on a message board talking about me.

Shadowfire, I can sympathize for you that you lost somebody you know but I really don\'t know the guy personally so... I\'m not going to cry for him or anything. I hope his family is alright and such though. Loosing loved ones is hard, but I\'m not going to show up at the kids funeral, call me heartless all you want.

For God\'s sake.. I didn\'t post this here for sympathy. I didn\'t expect, nor did I want, any of you to cry over it (though I did at least expect civility, and a bit of thought over what was posted). I posted this in an attempt to relate the fact that this could happen to anyone. I posted it because, even though I don\'t know any of you, I don\'t want any of you to die in a preventable accident like that. I posted this because, believe it or not, I give a damn about you guys. That\'s all it was. I\'m not asking for your sympathy.

Exactly. That\'s exactl what I meant! Perhaps I didn\'t word it in the perfect way, but that\'s just me. I\'m clumsy with words.

I know you didn\'t post here for sympahy, that\'s why I strayed away from it, giving me the \"heartless\" appearance.

Mmmm...I dunno.

\"My only wish for people who can\'t seem to get this is that you\'ll be the one who\'s gone, so we won\'t have to listen to your appologies. You\'ve been f%$#!@g warned, already.\"

Just read the bolded parts. Looks like a wish of death to me. But yeah, I do see your point, with the \"for people who can\'t seem to get this\" line..it may indicate \"people\" as \"those who don\'t buckle up\". But he did mention the \"heartless\" people beforehand in the same paragraph, so I assumed...

And whoa, now that I notice..Mega X went all drama queen on us in this topic, didn\'t he?

Exactly. Being heartless in the face of death is one thing. Wishing it upon others is completely different!:P

BTW, I always buckle up, too. Why not? Or does it burn that extra precious 0.000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001 calories.

*sigh* No, that\'s not what I meant at all. I mean, if somebody is going to die in a car accident, I would prefer it to be someone who was aptly warned, and someone who is too stubborn to change their ways. Them, as opposed to someone in the same car who did buckle up. I\'m not looking at it as purely a message board thing, I mean the world in general. I would rather see someone who doesn\'t care about their own safety and well-being die than someone who attempted to protect themself, especially if the former were warned of the dangers of not riding with a seatbelt on. Is this a bit more clear, or should I find another way of expressing my message so that it is clearly understood?

Lots of people were angry at the time. Maybe they just couldn\'t believe the whole \"Oh well, this doesn\'t affect me\" thing which a lot of people said at the time.
